Disc Golf Dilly Bags
Disc Golf Dilly bags are all hand made. No two are exactly alike. Some bags are simply made from fabrics I love.
Where possible I like to up-cycle items to create these bags from fabric scraps and treasures found at op-shops and garage sales. Dis Golf Dilly Bags are small, disc golf bags which carry up to 7 discs pus a mini marker disc. Each bag has a removable shoulder strap and a handy inside pocket. They are perfect for travel or when you simply want a quick round without all the fuss of a larger backpack or cart.
found this fabric at a garage sale and fell in love. On the same day of treasure hunting I also found a pretty red, beaded necklace which I knew could be transformed into the prettiest of bead counters. This simple little accessory is so handy for helping to keep track of score. Paired, they make this super stylish bag. $50.00. update:SOLD
Play with style. This bag easily holds 7-8 discs and includes a putter pocket, a mini pocket plus two internal pockets for phone and keys. Also included is a pretty bead counter to help keep score. $50.00. Available for pick up from Doncaster, 3108 or postage at buyers expense.
Too fancy for disc golf? Nah, of course not. I have found some really lovely fabrics lately and have enjoyed making these beauties. I have added an extra inside pocket too. They will also come with these bead counters to help keep track of score. Perfect Mother's Day gift.
Disc Golf Dilly Bags was a proud sponsor of the 2022 Bald Hill Open. This bag was made especially for the event and we are thrilled that the deserving recipient was Matti. Congratulations. Enjoy! After a long break, Dilly Bags should be back in production soon.
These Dilly Bags are currently available. Let me know if you would like one of them. They at $40.00 plus postage....or you can collect from Doncaster 3108 after lockdown.
I am hoping to catch up on custom orders his weekend. :)
I have a few new Dilly Bags up for grabs. Let me know if you would like one of these. $40.00 plus postage
The fabric used for the striped bag was found at Camberwell Markets. I have enough left for a few more bags. It is so bright and happy. I love it!
The skulls bag was made from clearance fabric I found at a favourite store, Darn Cheap Fabrics which is sadly closing down.
The Aboriginal print. "Frog Dreaming" is designed by artist, Thomas Jangala Rice. I love the colours in this print.
A Happy Customer! Thanks Patrick Ferris Jr. for the video. Glad you like it. This Dilly Bag was custom made for Patrick with tartan fabric and a wider gusset to hold 11 discs.
"Holy Disc Golf Dilly Bag Batman!"
I was up with the sparrows this morning. No work so I planned to make a few bags. After a couple of machine breakdowns and struggles sewing through the thick, padded fabric I found at the recycle centre on the weekend, I managed just one Dilly Bag. Let's just call this one "Holy what a long day Batman!" $40.00
Another custom order. On of our Disc Golf Dilly Bags supporters was inspired by Careys putter pouch customisation and asked if I could make one to suit his home-made cart. This should do the job. This one holds four putter plus has an interior phone/keys pocket plus a mini pouch. There are also loops to display bag tags. It took quite a while to figure this one out but now that I know what works and what doesn't I am happy to make more if anyone is interested. The back has a plywood insert and will have eyelets so it can be bolted to the cart.
Why yes! That is a sparkly butterfly you see. This one was made for a special little girl whose Daddy just can't wait for her to join him on the course. What better incentive to play disc golf than your very own pink, sparkly Dilly Bag. I found this fabric at Camberwell Markets and had been looking forward to making a Dilly Bag from it. It had travelled all the way from the UK. The butterfly was my addition. I'm not usually a pink girl but I love it! I might need to make another one similar to this. What do you think? Are there any more pink fans out there?
We recently had a special request for a tartan bag that could hold between 10 and 12 discs. It wasn't as easy as expected to find suitable tartan fabric and the pattern needed a little tweaking but we are super happy with the end result. It is jetting it's way to QLD so keep an eye out for this one-of-a-kind Dilly Bag in the sunny state.
All I need for a fun round of disc golf is a few discs, my Dilly Bag and my best friend. Let's play!
Disc Golf Dilly Bags proudly sponsored hole 7 at the 2021 Vic Open. Thanks to the amazing FA1 card for their supreme modelling with our sign while I was doing my very best to photobomb from the other side of the lake. :) Photo by Chris Eltringham
Carey purchased one of our Dilly Bags at the Vic Open this past weekend and quickly went to work with some clever customisations to convert it into a putter pouch. He even has a new place to hang bag tags. Pretty spiffy me thinks! Thanks for sharing Carey.
Here are a few bags I will have at the Vic Open this weekend. All registered players will receive a coupon in their players pack for $5.00 off.
I have been making lots of Dilly Bags lately. I find it relaxing plus it give me a great excuse to visit op shops and markets in search of great fabrics.
Here is one that I made from a fabric remnant I found at Savers plus an old pair of jean found at a garage sale. It needs a few tweaks before I set it free in this world and send it on to a new owner but I do like it. What do you think?
SOLD Remember that Fender guitar case I found at a local op shop? Here it is upcycled as a Disc Golf Dilly Bag. It was tough going. I don't have an industrial sewing machine and this was very thick fabric. I broke 4 needles making it! The bag strap is also upcycled from an old handbag I found at Camberwell Markets. It reminded me of a guitar strap so I figured it was a perfect fit.
I found some great fabrics on the weekend. Some new, some op-shopped. Can't wait to create now!
Congratulations to Anthony Magen who was the winner of our one-of-a-kind, Disc Golf Dilly Bag at the Mt Baw Baw Alpine Disc Golf Classic. Despite being aced twice during our last tournament at Mt Baw Baw, there were no aces on hole 10 this time so the names of all competitors went into a random draw at the end of the final round and our winner was selected. I think he looks pretty happy with his prize. :) Woohoo!
Those competing in the Mt Baw Baw Alpine Disc Golf Classic this weekend will have a chance to win this Dilly Bag! You'll just need to ace hole 10. Easy! If hole 10 is not aced, the winner will be decided by random draw.
Look what I found at the op shop today! Another guitar case Dilly Bag coming soon. :)
I will be setting up a Facebook shop for my Disc Golf Dilly bags real soon but in the meantime, just message me if you would like one. They are all AU$40.00 each. Pick-up is available form Doncaster, 3108 or I can post too. Hope you all like them.
Add a little colour to the course with this Dilly Bag. Did you know that all Disc Golf Dilly bags are filly lined and have double (sometimes triple) stitched seams and sturdy binding.
Well Hello there! I love this vintage fabric. It was on clearance so I have lots of it. Expect more bags similar to this one in the future.
This one just makes me smile. I fell in love with this fabric. I have enough left over to make a second koala bag....coming soon. The putter pouch on this one is a little tight but you can still fit a putter or a smaller disc in there.
SOLD. This one is definitely one of a kind. The fabric came from a travel bag purchased at a garage sale. The seller told me they had bought the bag while travelling in Peru to bring home all the extra goodies they purchased while on holiday. I wish I had thought to take a photo of the original bag before I deconstructed it to transform it into a Disc Golf Dilly Bag.
I had a lot of fun with this Dilly Bag. This one was made from a pair of jeans found at a garage sale. The fabric is a little stretchy so it could comfortably hold 7 or 8 discs. The jeans pockets make a perfect pouch for your mini. I have another two pair of jeans ready to be transformed so keep an eye out for those in the coming weeks.
