The Breast Basket
Created by an experienced midwife, a basket with all your needs from pregnancy to postnatal.
Working as a midwife, I found so many parents being taken advantage of by great marketing and subpar products.
All the products included in The Breast Basket have been tried and tested by thousands, and they work.
The idea behind The Breast Basket is to not only give you the products, but educate you on how, when and why to use each product.
🩷 Marissa
The basket provides you with a booklet explaining how, when and why to use each product. Our goal is to empower you to know your breasts and what they need when.
You are not alone. There are many conditions that women face whilst breastfeeding. At times feeding may feel painful, isolating, and difficult to manage. You are not alone! Many women will go through difficult experiences whilst trying to navigate feeding. With time, experience knowledge and practice those negatives will hopefully fade into a positive bonding experience between you and your baby. Take it one feed at a time. Recognise ni**le trauma and poor latching as early as possible. Research and educate yourself on different positions and aids that can support you. Utilise your healthcare team. The Breast Basket is here to support, empower and guide you on your breastfeeding journey.
It’s hard knowing what to get someone for their baby shower. Do you get something education, helpful, edible? Why not all three? The Breast Basket has the perfect gift for you. With everything that a breastfeeding mother should need. No need to go out to the shops for at least 1-3 weeks (depending on how she uses the products). Created by a midwife The Breast Basket aims to empower and educate mothers. Have others look at you with awe by all by your thoughtfulness and appreciated by the mother for your helpfulness.
Having the physical equipment to breastfeed is only one part of the puzzle to a successful breastfeeding journey. Breastfeeding requires a lot of patience and hard work to figure out; the right latch, pillow placement and hand positions. The Breast Basket recognises that breastfeeding can be difficult. Our baskets aim to reduce ni**le trauma, increase/decrease milk supply (depending on what you require) and give education along your journey. The Breast Basket hopes to empower women to know the products we recommend, how to use the them and when to use them. This will in term give you the confidence to take care of your breasts yourself.
Well that’s a wrap for the Feb PBC expo! What a whirlwind it has been. Our first time at the expo as a brand new business. I’ve learned so much in the last 24 hours and have absolutely loved every single second! Thank you to everyone who has spent their weekend helping me out! Special personal thanks to Ash, Charlotte, Courtney, Kaity, Mum and Dad. Kathy…there are no words to describe how grateful I am to have your help sewing all the breastpads by hand. I am truly the luckiest person in the world for having friends and family I can rely on to support me whenever needed. Stu…words cannot describe how thankful I am for having your support, love, attention and devotion to not only me, but my crazy dreams of owning a business. The Breast Basket has always been a passion project. Something that I have always wanted to do to help educate and empower women with knowledge about breastfeeding. Thank you to every parent that came by our stand and listened to me talk about something that makes me so passionate. I hope everyone had as great a weekend as me. Look forward to spreading the word more about The Breast Basket. So much love to all!

Let’s talk about ni**le pain! Ni**le pain is a real, but manageable complication that may occur from breastfeeding. Some women have described it as a paper cut to the ni**les. Certainly the last thing any mother needs. The reason why The Breast Basket started was because one midwife was sick of mothers being taken advantage of by all the gimmicks. Offered empty promises. There are key items every mother needs and The Breast Basket provides them in one convenient basket. **letrauma

Come down and meet me…Marissa the owner and creator of The Breast Basket. Created by a midwife, nurse and Maternal and Child Health nurse with over 10 years experience. Breastfeeding can be a difficult experience for some mothers. As a midwife I have seen thousands of cracked, bleeding tender ni**les. The other thing I have seen a countless number of times is gimmicks vowing “to make everything better”! The Breast Basket promotes “no gimmicks”. Each product has been chosen specifically due to its beneficial properties in breastfeeding. The Breast Basket’s booklet comes with all the reasons, why, how and when to use it. Booklets are included in every purchase of a basket. Check it out on www.thebreastbasket.com.au

Ni**le trauma is a regular occurrence when breastfeeding a baby. There are many things we can do to help try to minimise this including; changing positions, recognising a poor/good latch and supporting your arms to reduce the tension and strain on a mother’s muscles.
Once ni**les are sore it can be an uncomfortable breastfeeding journey. Above are some of my tips to try to help soothe and heal ni**les trauma.
