So a massive weekend for us here at the chop shop on farm butchery!! Putting 11 lambs and 2 bodyโs of beef ๐ฅฉ in the fridge for our own freezer!! In Jam Jerrup! To being out in merricks on this beautiful 1300 acre property putting this beautiful steer in the fridge for Jason at the myers!! Going 248kgs on the hook!

So today I was out on-site in Mickleham, for Steve & his family. Completing this massive job!! Was just awesome ๐ to see this home- grown produce from paddock to plate!!

So a big weekend, here for us, with my mate Troy helping me yesterday in broadford putting this lovely black Baldy steer (going 295kgs) & 4 sheep in the fridge! For Nim & his family. & thanks to Tom for giving me a hand today, being out in Mickleham to do this beautiful Angus x fresian steer (going 362kgs) (grain finished) 2 lambs, the biggest sheep ๐ Iโve ever done (48.5kgs) also grain fed!
4 pigs (skinned) & a goat ๐ for Steve & his family. absolute cracking weekend!
& having a sneaky drive around in this! ๐ awesome weekend.

So a big weekend for us here, on Friday putting 4 pigs and 3 sheep ๐ in the freezer for Chris in Piercedale.. with some awesome weather ๐
Then Saturday being out on-site in Cardinia to cut up and cryovacc this awesome fresian steer for Pat & Ron. With snags being made in 4 flavours (Texan chilli, beef burgundy, plain, & madras curry) & to be out in Bayles to process this fully grain fed steer for Yvonne on Sunday. Some absolutely beautiful lots of meat! And some very happy families!!

On Saturday we were out on-site in Cardinia for Locals, Pat & his dad doing this Friesian steer.
We worked in the rain to have this all finished and home in time for lunch! I was impressed with the fat coverage! And will be a good eater! Going 270kgs on the hook! ๐

So Last weekend Tom & I were out in Macclesfield to process these couple of amazing cattle! And 4 beautiful prime lambs. For Phill & Kelly, & Rick an Nicole!!
This weekend it was cut up Time. With some absolutely stunning ๐ meat. It was a fantastic weekend, with Great people who also cooked us some lunch ( 600 gram T-bone steak ๐ฅฉ each) & Lamb chops.
It was a pleasure. And amazing quality!!
Followed up with some Snags, making a Herb & Garlic, bratwurst, Texan chilli ๐ถ & some special Merguez snags, with some Help from young Ben.

So I was back at it last weekend!! To put 4 sheep, and a big pig going 89kgs on the hook for Holly, in Kilmore. Then Saturday we were out in Piercedale, to finish this Murray Grey heifer, for Belinda & Glen!! & Sunday to do 7 Lambs in Morooduc for Tim & his Family, yesterday on-site back in Kilmore for the cut up of the sheep and pig at Hollyโs!! & today out in Macclesfield, for Phil & Kelly, & there neighbours to put these 2 lovely black Angusโs going (230) &(367)kgs each. & 4 sheep in the fridge. Been a flat out couple of weeks. Hereโs some happy snaps!

So today George & I were back out on-site in Macclesfield. To process this beautiful little lowline x Hereford For Alex an his family! After an extended 2 week stay in the fridge it was a little different today. With Alex wanting some more niche cuts! We had the pleasure of doing a couple of thaws hammers! some flat iron steak and a few different cuts!! All cryovacc up! It was a great day with some beautiful cuts of beef!

So a big weekend for us so far here at the chop shop on farm butchery!! Doing this 500kg bull for Sylvia that was in for an extended 2 week hang!! On Friday in Tyabb, and today to be out at Diggers Rest for Sarah and Holly! (With some help from Thomas Jayson King) all round good guy!! And crappy forklift driverโฆ. Getting it bogged! ๐ With some help from George also. We put 3 pigs, in the fridge, along with a couple of lambs and a goat!
And thanks to Sarah and Holly for putting on some lunch with burgers and snags!! And getting into the action.

To say it was a massive last 3-4 days has been an understatement. With an unexpected bull, that went down on Thursday night in Tyabb. Going 500kgs on the hook.. ๐ช To save it and put it in the fridge for Sylvia and her family. To Being at Marnong estate, in Mickleham both Friday and Saturday!! And to open up the fridge on Saturday morning to find a couple of Deer hanging in there that the boys got. Finishing off w7 pigs and 3 sheep. For Steve and his family. And to be back on-site in Bayles today to be finishing processing these 3 pigs.

On Friday I was in Bayles to do 4 lambs for Malcom & Karina, with a couple escaping from the pen. So I will be back in the next couple of days to do a couple more, then Friday arvo I was again in Bayles to cut up the emergency kill, the beef going 232kgs on the hook ๐ช for Jason, and tester I was in Loch to do these 3 beautiful lambs for Jo & Kenny!! What a great weekend!

So another busy weekend for us here at the chop shop on farm butchery!! Doing 7 beautiful solid lambs in Garfield for Elesa & Cameron, 2 nice solid Lambs in Bayles, for Brendan & today I did 6 nice lambs in koo wee rup for Alan & his young family!! Some fantastic lambs, and some great produce! With some stunning views!! All be it in some not so nice weather wise!!

This is a post Iโve been putting off, for ages now. hoping things would change. With the crazy price hikes in diesel, and day to day costs of materials. With-in the business,
New prices as of July 1st will be.
Beef $3.50 per kilo (carcass weight) (no kill fee) (snags $ extra)
Sheep $75 (each min of 6)
Pigs $4.00 per kilo (skinned)
$4.50 per kilo (scold)
Coolroom hire (60$) weekly
+ travel costs ($1.00 per km) on first time out.
I know the timing isnโt great but Iโve been trying to absorb as much of the costs as possible but it just isnโt a viable option for me any longer.
I hope you guys understand.

And tonight in the dark Troy and I went and did this Emergency kill for a downed little black Angus heifer. Who couldnโt get up. In Piercedale for Mellisa and her family! Going 150kgs on the hook!
