At the recent Berlin Film Festival, a documentary titled 'No Other Land' by Yuval Abraham and Basel Adra won the Best Documentary Award. Following Yuval’s acceptance speech he is being intimidated and threatened. It would be a useful and appropriate action for Australian documentary makers to send these filmmakers a message of support and to take a stand against the silencing of documentary filmmakers everywhere. Would anyone at AIDC - Australian International Documentary Conference be willing to move such a motion at either the AGM or in one of the sessions? There are a number of German decision makers attending and it would be good for them to see that Australia's filmmakers are concerned about the treatment of Yuval and Basel and their film.
