Do you chuck old batteries in the bin? There's now no excuse for you not to recycle them Australia's first national recycling scheme for household batteries launches today. It could create a major new industry — if the economics fall into place.
Two more local businesses keen to help reduce our landfill. Thanks to Priceline (Carnegie Central) and Hannki restaurant
It's so exciting to see how many cafes and restaurants and businesses in Koornang Road are excited to reduce waste! If your favourite place doesn't have a sign up yet let us know and we'll make sure we drop in to see them :-).

Carnegie, we are slowly greening our beautiful street!
It's so awesome walking along Koornang Rd and seeing all the green signs popping up.
These signs remind us to ditch the single use plastics whenever we can. They also point us to businesses keen to do the right thing and support 'green' initiatives, so let's all make sure we support them too!!
I'll mention each business in the attached photo descriptions 😃
We're making our way up and down Koornang Road and it's amazing how many of our cafes, restaurants and shops also want to reduce their waste and embrace the BYO cup / containers / bag culture. We're getting there!
Grouse Carnegie, Carnegie Fruit Market, Koornang Hot Bread, Carnegie Poultry, Fig Jam Cafe, Saul's Sandwiches are all on board!!
YAY for more local businesses getting on board with reducing single-use plastics!! Check out all the pretty green signs.

How exciting! Look at all these cafes, restaurants and businesses on Koornang road getting behind the BYO campaign.
Bring your own bags, keep cups and containers for take away, the delis and shops, and let's cut back on single use items, and reduce our waste!
If we haven't come to your business yet, never fear! We are headed your way.

How cool is this! On Sunday Nov 21st, 10-2pm, you can bring any of the things on the list to 37 Margaret St Carnegie, and they will repurpose/recycle/reuse it for you!
Such a great initiative. If you'd like to get involved, send us a message and we can send you the organisers details.
