Multicultural Youth Support Services (MYSS) is a not-for-profit organisation that seeks to build resilience in young people who come from marginalised multicultural communities.
Last night's celebration highlighted the remarkable strides made by our local service providers, with our Multicultural Youth Support Service leading the charge in enriching the lives of African Australian young people and families. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Cassandra Fernando, our federal MP for Holt, for her steadfast commitment to fostering positive change.
In collaboration with H.E. Ambassador Monday Semaya, our team lead by Dr. Santino Atem Deng from the Department of Youth Justice and Community Safety explored solutions to the problems affecting young individuals. As I discussed or mentioned three primary areas of concern: community issues in general; health concerns caused by pre-migration and post-migration factors; as well as political underrepresentation at high levels for South Sudanese people.
New South Sudanese Leadership:
It was a privilege to work behind the success to restore the relationship for the South Sudanese community in Victoria. 2nd of March 2024 Subcommunity of S. Sudanese have formed a united interim Leadership.
Each Subcommunity nominated their own representatives comprising fifteen [15] members from eight (8) subcommunities. The technical committee directs fifteen representatives or nominees to organise themselves.
The general assembly leaves the nominees alone with two observers inside the meeting room to allow the candidates to conduct their election.
I have witness official outcomes elected leader Mr Andrew Ohinde, deputy leader Mr. Tera Yoa, treasure Mr. Otor Ogwok, secretary Mr. David Kuel. The rest of the nominees will fill out the other positions.

As an adovocate for a community safety is to identify the issues and find a solution-solving in addressing problems.
We from Multicultural Youth Suuport Service have identified a cyber bullied or online negative behaviour that could be hurtful for our children. MYSS and ySafe have provided the workshop to educate our participants. Thank you Victoria Government for supporting Multicultural Youth Support Services.
Here are some things you can do to educate our children:
β Take screen shots & ask an adult for help
β Report it directly to the social media or gaming platform

April 28th the Refugee Resource Hub, Multicultural Youth Support Services and other service providers had the pleasure to meet the Minister for Mental Health. The Hon. Gabrielle Williams MP provided great inisights in relation to mental health. I have learned alot from other migrant refugees clearly expressed mental health is a big issue within their communities.
In the last few years we have established MYSS in helping children and young people from African descent. Since then MYSS is proactive within the African communities in Melbourne. We have done alot, but the best thing we have achieved is to give the children and young people the opportunity to explore things and self-discovery about themselves. MYSS is major focus to equip and empower young people to create change in the world and live out with knowledge to achieve their full potentials. 105 participants were presented and participated in Adventure Day Trip to Gumbuya World.
Thanks Enver Erdogan MP, Gary Maas, our Premier Dan Andrews's government for being supportive toward our Multiculture Youth Support Service .org.au.

WHO ARE WE?
We are MYSS- Multicultural Youth Support Services, a non-profit organization working for the welfare of African youth in South-eastern Melbourne. MYSS believes that African youths in the community have a say in the services being provided to them. That is why MYSS created IYAC- Intercultural Youth Advisory Committee, to listen the concerns from African youths and provide engaging and youth focus services that improve the lives of African youths.
HOW IYAC WILL WORK?
The committee meets at least once a month to discuss issues ranging from healthcare barriers, mental health issues, and social barriers such as peer pressure or victimisation, just to name a few. This committee enables MYSS to provide engaging and youth-focused services that improve the lives of African youth.

Competitions are good. They make you try harder. To be better. Be the best version of yourself. But when it comes to education, getting too competitive means wasting your energies on something other than your main purpose.
A healthy competition is always encouraged but be mindful of not taking this competition too far. Focus on your own learning. Only this way you will be able to get the most benefit.

Hard work can get you where nothing else can. It's the best working formula of success. If you'll work hard, positive results are guaranteed.
One thing you should learn as a student that any failure you face in your student years is not final. You should give your best for sure, but remember that failure is a great teacher too.
You've got a long journey ahead. Learning to get through negative experiences is how you'll succeed in the future.

Discipline is one of the primary characteristics of a student. With the recent pandemic and shift of education on online mode, self-discipline has gained even more importance.
One of the challenges that you must work on is to learn to stick to your routine. Do your assignments on time. And instead of looking for excuses to get out of your responsibilities, you as students need to learn how to work things out on your own.
MYSS is here to share your educational burden. We are available in case you need any guidance. Please visit our website for details.
