A Beaut Commute
Functional clothing for an active to commute Clothing for women who commute to work via bicycle or walking.
A little while ago, I asked you all if you would like to help me raise some money for my colleague Mary. Mary arrived in Australia with her husband as an asylum seeker. She has been working really hard to raise the money to bring her 3 children here to Australia. She has raised enough to bring two but needs assistance to raise the remainder of the money. Our target is $8000 as we also wish to cover the GoFundMe fees and not leave Mary out of pocket.
This Christmas, rather than give a gift, could you afford to help Mary, but either sharing, donating, or both.
Help Reunite Mary with her Children, organized by Jenni Thorman My name is Jenni and I am raising money on behalf of Mary Lambert and her family. … Jenni Thorman needs your support for Help Reunite Mary with her Children

I found this tidy little reminder while reading for my studies. It was misquoted but I’m glad I found the correct origin before I shared, proving that if I had of hastily shared I would have been in contradiction of my own proverb! Hopefully this little quote resonates with you all, as much as it resonates with me.
My studio has taken over ’s today! Check it out and see what I do! Live at 1pm for Q&A! :)

Women & Sports: Jen Thorman, Cycling I started riding for the GCC in 2013 because I was a student, not earning a great deal of money but felt the need to give back. In my 20's my Dad was diagnosed with Cancer and my Grandfather died of cancer. I am sure most people know someone who has had the same diagnoses or even lost someone too. I...
Some highlights from my trip today. I’m pretty pleased with myself. I haven’t cycled to st Kilda for such a long time and today I completed the ride with ease and followed it up with a few hours of gardening. Now I know why people take days off, I feel so rejuvenated and I don’t recall the last time I did this, like properly took a whole day off. Im now soaking in radox and I’ll probably be crippled tomorrow but I’m dead set keen to do this again - days off and cycles to the beach! Anyway, would love it if you sponsored me. I’ve been doing this charity ride every year since 2013 and raised in total, just of $2000 (I missed one year in my final@year of uni). One dollar would be amazing, it all adds up and if you donate before midnight, that dollar becomes a magic $2! Yay!
🥰

I am riding again! Since Oct 2013 I’ve riding to raise money for kids with cancer. Most years, I set a target know that I’ll be riding to work, riding to and from the places I need to go and a few extra joy rides to make up the target. This year, due to Melbourne still being in lock down, you can be sure I’ll be doing a whole lotta extra joyrides to make my 300km target. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, for the whole month of Oct, click the link in my bio (Instagram) or, if you’re on Facebook, click here https://greatcyclechallenge.com.au/Riders/JenniThorman⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I’ve been nominated by@misspearls66 but rather then post an image of myself, I decided to wait for the opportunity to celebrate the sporting achievements of .
For sometime now, we have been celebrating women and sports through a monthly blog post, our aim is to inspire more women to take up sport.
As a young girl, I was bullied at school, home life could also be a challenge, I developed into a shy girl who hid at home and wasn’t really participating in life. I spent too much of my time worrying about what other people think. I owned my first bike for months before I had the confidence to ride it but I knew I wanted to be that girl - the girl that gives having an active life ago! Now people like my nom, know me as someone who will always arrive via bicycle- last time we met, I kid you not she said “you and that bloody bike” as I overloaded the basket with stock ready for my next destination.
So my ambition is, let’s not have the next generation of young women scared to try the sport they dream of playing because they don’t see other women participating, because they’ve been told they’re the wrong body type, or it’s not a sport for women. Let’s tell them they can play any sport they want, let’s show them they can!

So thankful for my morning walks right now. What is giving you life during the current lock down period? During my walk I phone a friend or chat to my one of my besties in the uk over .
If I’m feeling down, along side of talking to my friends and daily exercise I also keep the following mental health checklist;
✅ eating right
✅ regular hours
✅ keeping busy
✅ how was my sleep last night
✅ have you taken some me time
✅ have you rewarded yourself
Working from home (or living from work as some are calling it) can often mean we don’t take breaks, we forget about our hobbies and we tend to stay up later, knowing there’s no morning commute but don’t forget to give back to yourself - you can fill up the tank of your loved ones if you’re running on half empty.
Now available! High waisted leggings in our new colour way! Follow the link in our bio to our website.

My boyfriend doesn’t take a bad pic! Cycling back from Preston markets in my new leggings, I took advantage of our little alleyway short cut home to take the obligatory “Melbourne alleyway graffiti shot”. In this shot I remembered to smile, previous shot - so grumpy! 😂. You can’t see it in the shot but the right hand side of these tights have a pocket! Hell yes to pockets!!!!
Did you know I also work for thread den? You can book a lesson with me and create your own cycling wardrobe!!!
