Story time!
A client called us regarding a whining noise they had observed while driving. They were also worried because the noise was getting louder every time they had to take a turn. When they brought the car in, we found that their hub bearing was badly damaged. FYI, a hub bearing helps your car to remain sturdy on the road. If a hub bearing is damaged, it is highly likely that you might loose steering control while driving at top speeds.

We then had to replace the hub bearing. And now the car is quite as a mouse.

As a viewer, you would probably…..be able to tell the difference between the first two photos and the second two photos. When you saw the first and second photo you would have noticed a thick black, gummy oil draining from the engine along with a gummy engine oil filter housing. The third and fourth photos would have had a brownish oil like liquid along with its oil filter housing. The “blackening” of the oil is caused due to the failure of replacing the oil as per manufacturer’s recommendations. Oil has the tendency to lose its property when not changed in time (as specified by the manufacturer). This will result in engine parts failure in the long run. The quality of the oil in the engine will determine its optimum engine life. This makes periodic service vital for your car. To book a periodic service click on the book now button.

We found this car’s rotors to be scored and burnt. This can happen overtime due to constant contact with Brake pads or due to delayed replacement of worn brake pads. A failure to identify and change your scored and burnt brake rotors can reduce the ability to slow down/stop the vehicle. It is probably a good time to book your car in via www.pimautomotive.com.au if you feel any brake pedal pulsation and heavy shudder while braking. We would get your brakes and rotors checked and let you know if they need replacing and will replace it for you at the right time.

Look at what we found. The old cabin filter is completely blocked. It has probably never been replaced in the past. It is important to understand that this is not normal. If this filter was periodically replaced as per manufacturer's recommendations, it should look something like the second photo.
