The new owners at 𝗦𝗮𝗺'𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 have been pumping out quality coffee and sandwiches in its corner of Warringal Shopping Centre this year, and we're loving it. Entirely community-focused, owners John and Jake have created a true meeting place in the heart of our Centre.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The food menu is split between fresh and toasted feeds. On the fresh front, it might be halloumi bagel or turkey focaccia sandwich. Toasted options might include a classic ham-and-cheese with relish, or a home-made beef lasagne.

For something sweet, the cabinet is stocked with cookies, cakes and pastries – which go down nicely with coffee.

I don’t think recipes can get more fun than this cauliflower mac and cheese ... delicious and comforting - see recipe 👇​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​INGREDIENTS:
250g macaroni
1 head cauliflower, broken into pieces
25g butter
2 tbsp plain flour
2 tsp English mustard powder
450ml milk
100g cheddar, grated

METHOD:
STEP 1
Cook the macaroni following pack instructions, adding the cauliflower for the final 4 mins.

STEP 2
Melt the butter in a pan, then stir in the flour and mustard powder and cook for 2 mins. Gradually add the milk, stirring all the time to get a smooth sauce. Add three-quarters of the cheese and some seasoning to the sauce.

STEP 3
Drain the macaroni and cauliflower and stir into the cheese sauce. Transfer to an ovenproof dish, then sprinkle over the remaining cheese and flash under a hot grill until golden and bubbling
