Right now, 57 Australians are diagnosed with breast cancer every day.
This August, our team is taking part in Step Up to Breast Cancer for the mothers, sisters, daughters, friends and loves ones who are impacted by this devastating disease.
We are doing this to raise funds for National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to support vital breast cancer research to help save lives.

Jade graduated from the University of Melbourne Medical School, and since graduating has worked at Eastern Health and Western Health. She is currently completing a further Certificate of Women's Health. Whilst undertaking training in multiple disciplines, she developed special interest in;
- Women's Health
- Children's Health
- Chronic Disease Management
Outside of medicine she enjoys sewing, nature walks and spending time with her loved ones. π‘

Blake graduated from Monash University in 2020 and since graduating has worked throughout Gippsland, Alfred Health and Eastern Health. Whilst undertaking training in multiple disciplines, he developed interest in a broad range of General Practice specialties.
Outside of work he enjoys hiking, gardening and triathlon training. π΄ββοΈ

As summer continues and the likelihood of extreme heat days increases, it's important to prepare early to protect the health of yourself and your family:

βοΈ Have a plan for checking in with family, friends and neighbours (especially those more vulnerable to heat related illness such as; children, over 65's, pregnant people and those with chronic health conditions).

For all of our patients who visit us across our multiple clinic locations - Selby Family Clinic are excited to welcome Dr Anna Church to their consulting team in August.π₯³
π₯³ We are excited to introduce our new registrar Dr Anna Church. Anna will be consulting full time at Selby Family Clinic from August 7th, 2023. π₯³
Anna is an enthusiastic doctor who is excited about her career in General Practice. She has worked in the Eastern Health hospital network since graduating; in a wide variety of specialities including paediatrics, women's health, geriatrics, orthopaedics & cardiology. Outside of work, she enjoys horse riding, cycling and spending time with her partner, family and friends.
A reminder that from July 1st Monbulk Family Clinic will be switching to HotDoc payments for all Telehealth and Isolation Clinic appointments.

Booking Online
When you book an appointment for a telehealth consultation online or via the HotDoc app:
- You will see the estimated cost of your appointment.
- You will then be asked to add a new payment method or use an existing stored card.
- You can then proceed to confirm your appointment.

Booking with Reception
When you book a telehealth or isolation clinic appointment over the phone with our reception team:
- You will be sent an automatic message from HotDoc asking to provide a payment method to confirm your booking.
- The message may come as an SMS, Email or HotDoc App notification.
- The message will contain your appointment details and a request you to securely enter your card details through HotDoc.
- Upon entering your payment details your appointment will be confirmed.
β οΈ Your card won't be charged until after your appointment and card details are never visible to HotDoc or our practice.
From the 1st of July 2023, Monbulk Family Clinic will be transitioning to online payments, via HotDoc, for all telehealth and isolation clinic consultations.
βWhat does this mean?
- Your credit card details will be required to secure your telehealth appointment (similar to booking a hotel room).
βWhen will I be charged?
- Upon completion of your appointment, your nominated payment method will be charged for your consult. Note: There will be no charges made before your appointment time.

With Melbourne's recent hot summer days it is important to remind ourselves of the precautions we must take in order to protect our skin this summer! βοΈ
- Wear sun protective clothing
- Apply SPF30 (or higher) sunscreen and reapply every 2hrs
- Wear a hat, preferably wide brim or legionnaire
- Seek shade when available
- Wear sunglasses
Should you have any concerns about the current state of your skin remember that you can book a Skin Check appointment with your doctor. Your skin is your largest organ, look after it. π
Effective treatments to reduce hospitalisation from COVID-19, taken as tablets or capsules at home, are now available for people in select high-risk groups. All treatment must be commenced within 5 days of symptom onset, or as soon as possible if you have no symptoms but test positive.
Therefore, if you have COVID-19 and are in a high risk group that is eligible for oral antivirals please call reception and let us know as soon as possible so that we can arrange a telephone consult with your GP to discuss further.
