Hellboy Crooked Man

Short answer: We enjoyed it - rated SOLID 3.5/5

Cons:
Horror, but not horror. There are definitely elements of the horror genre film here, but it doesn't become a full horror movie (despite releasing in October).
Horror Tropes - they exist in the film and if this isn't your thing they might become annoying. Music, high pitch, some jump scares.
CGI - I didn't mind the CGI, but I know it is noticeable and will detract for some viewers (I've been watching stop motion films like Ray Harry Hauser which means I have a different take on movie effects)
Literally 3 issue comic arc in motion picture format - I liked this but it doesn't feel like other films because of the format. If you enjoy comics, especially hellboy hopefully you'll also enjoy this style.

Pros:
Literally 3 issue comic arc in motion picture format - I know I had it as a con, but for me I really enjoyed this style choice. It was different and made this film a clean break from previous Hellboy films in my opinion.
Not a superhero movie - I liked this a lot. Hellboy isn't a classic super hero, so I really enjoyed that this film was not superhero movie.
Jack Kesy as Hellboy - He played a fantastic Hellboy. I believe he was a strong mix of the comic book character (with some catch phrases!) and the Ron Pearlman version.
Character looks - Comparing the comic book characters with the on-screen ones was fun and I think they've done a great job of bringing those characters to life.
Well written story, which makes sense when you see who was part of bringing this comic book to the big screen.

Overall we were both really happy with this film and enjoyed watching it. I will watch it again and I like to rate films in a manner that if I was on a 5+ hour flight and had limited film choices would I choose to watch this film? The answer is YES!

Amanda Waller is at it again with Deadshot as team lead and Harley Quinn stealing the show. One review said: From beginning to end, this was a pretty insane read! The action, the gore, the characters all made this really exciting and entertaining.

Archer and Armstrong

Have you read Valiant comics?

Archer is a young man with a superhuman power that allows him to become a master fighter. After his seemingly devout religious parents turn out to be evil and then attempt to kill him, Archer decides to protect innocent people and stop villainy. He befriends and partners with a hard-drinking and jocular immortal with superhuman strength who calls himself Armstrong.

A great duo that I would definitely recommend reading because they are a GREAT read!

Harley Quinn 2013 (second series)

Harley Quinn is a landlady in Coney Island, a part-time member of a roller derby team and now back on working in psychology. This is a fun more lighthearted rendition of Harley. She has her own sense of right and wrong and a warped but unique moral compass. This is portrayed well and the art is beautiful with rich coloring and detailed paneling.

Gerry Duggan provides everything you would expect from a Deadpool comic with plenty of madcap, anything goes humor - WITH monsters! Frankenstein's Monster, Man-Thing, Marcus the Centaur, N'Kantu, the Living Mummy, Werewolf by Night accompany Shiklah (Mrs Deadpool) on her adventures! Oh and she is visited by Deadpool's Ghost ;) haha

This is an interesting glimpse at Catwoman’s adrenaline ju**ie, act first think later lifestyle. The only friend she has to turn to is her fence. She goes to mob parties, burgles more houses and confronts Batman.

Catwoman is smart, sexy, and constantly finding herself in over her head. Selena seems to realize she's on a runaway train, but will she get off it before it kills her?

A recent miracle cure (because COMICS) has given Barbara back the use of her legs after years of being in a wheelchair. Though Barbara’s physically able to return to the work of catching criminals in Gotham, she struggles mentally.
On TOP of working through these issues her reflexes aren’t what they used to be. It's not easy to be a heroine... can you return to the role after such a long time??

Batgirl cannot catch a break. Every time she arrests one criminal who’s determined to murder her, another one pops up, like the world’s most sinister game of Whack-a-Mole.
