Let’s talk winged eyeliner! 🪽🐈‍⬛

On the right eyeshape, winged eyeliner is a beautiful way to enhance the shape and angle of the eyes.
However, not all eyes are enhanced by a wing and can actually have the opposite effect.

🪽COMMON PROBLEMS🪽

- Eyes are not symmetrical so wings will accentuate the asymmetry
-Eyes are hooded and liner will transfer up onto the lid over hours of wear
- Deep outer eye creases can cause a crinkled liner when you smile instead of chic and straight
- Protruding lids in the outer eye can cause an uneven wing line causing the eye to look droopy

I find most of the time when people ask me for a wing, they don’t have the best eyeshape for it and don’t understand why I wouldn’t suggest until it’s been applied and it’s too late.
If I tell you I wouldn’t suggest it, it’s not because I dont want to do it, it’s because I think there is other techniques that can enhance your eye shape rather than fight against it 🤍

🪽SOLUTIONS/ALTERNATIVES

- Allow your artist to analyze your eyeshape and decide what is best
- Try a shadow wing instead which is more forgiving than a liquid or gel
- Try having eyeshadow applied with a winged out shape on the outer corner
-Try some longer, fluffier lashes on the outer eye instead of a wing

Here are some tips to ensure you look stunning on your special day:

🤍1. Research and book a talented and experienced makeup artist well in advance. Each artist has their own style, so make sure you like their vibe before enquiring.

🤍2. Schedule a trial to test your chosen look and ensure you love the final result.

🤍3. Communicate your vision and preferences clearly to your makeup artist. There are so many different options and opinions when it comes to bridal makeup

🤍4. Don’t forget to consider your skin type, wedding theme, and dress style when choosing your makeup.

🤍5. Lastly, relax and trust the professional to make you look and feel your best on your wedding day.

Location info is key for a smooth and timely wedding morning. We don’t want to be running late because you forgot to let us know there were 6 flights of stairs or that it was going to take 20 mins to park and walk to your location!

Have a read and make sure these have been discussed with your artist ahead of time 🤍🤍

BRIDESMAID GLAMS and why it’s important to let your artist know if all your girls are choosing their own individual looks, if they have allergies or coldsores!

Most of the time, bridal parties will opt for one general look for the bridesmaids and we will just tweak it for their individual features, however recently it’s becoming more popular that each bridesmaid is given free choice of what makeup they would like to have.
While I don’t mind either option, it’s important to let your artist know if everyone is choosing their own looks.

⭐️More time will need to be allocated as an in depth consultation about the makeup design will need to be had with each person.
⭐️I will need to bring a larger range of colours of all products in case someone asks for something colourful ( not the “usual” neutral bridesmaid glam
⭐️ There will need to be extra buffer time added at the end as there are usually changes of mind when one maid sees another maids choice.
⭐️ALLERGIES MUST be pre discussed. Its too late to let us know you’re anaphylactic to makeup once you’re in the chair!
⭐️Same for coldsores. PLEASE make sure you advise your artist so they can bring old brushes that can be thrown away after use. Extra time is also needed for coldsores as all powder products need to be decanted as well.

I’ve been pretty busy so no new Valentines Day look from me this year, so here’s one of my favs from a few years ago

I have listed my available appointments for trials in the next slide. These are the only times available at the moment. I will post if any cancellation appointments come available. Please familiarise yourself with pricing of trials on my website as weekends are more than weekdays 🤍

As most of you already know I will be studying next year and my availability is almost full for the first 6 months of the year! 😱🤯

So at the end of January I will be closing my books for bookings up until July.
Basically if you need a booking, especially a bridal trial, before the start of July, please make sure you book it in by the end of this month. In July I will reopen bookings for the last half of the year.
As always appointments are first come, first serve and are not secured without your deposit 🤍

Don’t forget your gorgeous Grandmas when booking in your morning glam session or when your choosing your artist!

Even if your grandma doesn’t wear makeup normally, some brow shaping and colour, some tinted moisturiser, individual lashes and some lipstick will make her feel like a special part of your day too 🤍

🤍Let’s talk Bridesmaids 🤍

🌸Your bridesmaids might all be having the same makeup or you might be allowing them to choose what they would like to have individually.

🌸The important thing to remember is they don’t all have to look exactly the same.
Most of the time I will ask for a general vibe and then just adapt that to suit each persons features.
🌸The colours might show up differently on different skin tones, the lashes may not all be the same style as it didn’t suit all eye shapes. The finishes might be different depending on skin type.

🌸This is all ok and is not going to even be noticeable in the photos.
We will ensure a cohesive look while still highlighting each persons features in the most beautiful way 🤍

- Book ahead. Myself and most of my other hair/makeup contacts are already fully booked for December. You can check out my remaining availability on my website and I will post here if I get any cancellations 🗓️

- Please be on time to your appointment. During December in particular, our appointments are back to back for up to 12 hours a day! Being 10 mins late for you may not seem much, but for us that will run us ragged for the rest of the day trying to catch up ⏰

- Give as much info as possible in your initial enquiry to cut out back and forth emails and please be patient for a reply. We are super busy at this time of the year and will be as prompt in replying as we can 💚

-We totally understand things come up and you may need to cancel, however please when possible, give as much notice as you can and be respectful of our cancellation policies in regards to your deposit. Deposits are non refundable and non transferable 🚫
