If you're trying to conceive or plan to in the near future, it's good to set some basic foundations for healthy fertility.

This means getting your body and mind in a healthy state to create the most hospitable environment for conception, implantation, and pregnancy.

Here are a few things you can consider (or discuss with your healthcare practitioner) to help you along your way:

🌟 Taking a high-quality prenatal.
🌟 Giving up smoking and alcohol (also important for male fertility).
🌟 Eating a varied diet and reducing sugar intake.
🌟 Getting regular exercise - even a daily brisk walk is great!
🌟 Reducing stress by having creative outlets, doing yoga, meditation, etc. (Did you know that chronic stress can have a direct impact on your hormones levels?)
🌟 Getting plenty of deep, restful sleep each night.
🌟 Seeing an acupuncturist and herbalist that is experienced in fertility and can guide you along the way.

You don't have to be "having trouble" conceiving before doing these things. In fact, I'd encourage you to set foundations for fertility several months before you actively start trying to conceive.

That being said, it's never too late to start healthy habits!

DM me if you'd like to chat more about how I can support your conception journey.

Most women probably don't think about acupuncture and herbal medicine to support their sex drive. But when your body and mind are functioning optimally, it can be pleasantly surprising how quickly your motor starts revving again! 🚘 So why do women have trouble with libido in the first place? Well, there are lots of reasons. Women need dedicated postnatal care to assist with the physical and emotional adjustments after pregnancy. We just do. And most of us don't get it. I find that so many online groups and even local groups for mums are almost entirely focused on our kids. Or worse, are RIDDLED with misinformation and judgment. 🤦🏼‍♀️ You know better than to consult with social media or Dr. Google about important health matters, but who else do you talk to about it? Concerns I often see from my postnatal patients include: 😥 Pain 🥺 Heavy, painful, or irregular periods 😴 Fatigue 🥴 Mood swings 😩 Insomnia 🥵 Hot flushes and night sweats 🤐 Low appetite 😳 Constipation 🤔 Confusion about what their body SHOULD be doing All while doing their best to be an attentive and loving parent. It's too much to do on our own sometimes. I know this because I've been there. Eventually, and with the right support and use of my own innate and learned wisdom, I was able to go from surviving and thriving. Let me be your expert guide back to feel strong, well, and joyful again. Not just for your family, but for YOU. Because YOU deserve it. 😘 🌸 I'm Dr. Sarah Hennessey (TCM) and my clinic, South East Natural Health, is currently accepting new patients.
