Rest In Peace, Scott Bloomquist.

We have lost an icon of our sport today.
A career spanning over 40years, the greatest of all time to of ever done it in a latemodel sedan.
With over 600 feature race wins to his name, winning multiple national championships and just about every major latemodel jewel event, arguably we may never see someone replicate ever again.
Will forever be a legend of the sport.
Tomorrow is never promised.

Wingless Sprintcar & Unlimited Sedan Sponsorship Proposal
๐Ÿ Angry Motorsport ๐Ÿ

With the new season fast approaching, the team are on the lookout for sponsorship partners! After having our first full season return, we are eager to improve and build towards success. Success we are aiming to achieve across both divisions of competition.

We are well into our preparations for our 2024/2025 season at the moment. We are eagerly seeking new partners to keep both cars on the track on a regular basis throughout the busy season ahead, Whether that be helping out financially, or being able to support with our cars running costs: tyres, fuel, engine maintenance, travel cost etc.
We already have close to 20 nights scheduled for our calender ahead with both divisions.

If you and your business are interested in our wingless sprint car & unlimited sedan team, we would love to hear from you, and establish a partnership.

Angry Motorsport :2023/2024 Season done and dusted.

My first 'full' season since 2008, & we did it. With Returning to my old number V43, In a freshly built car to start the season. With some mixed results, from battle scars to a heat win to merch!, but forever learning as we went. We completed 10 events in the Wingless, qualifying for 3 A main starts, including running 3 new tracks. As well as our first night in the Unlimited Sedan, was awesome. All in all super proud of our efforts as a team, and my body keeping up with all the late nights and hard racing ha! Next season should be an absolute blast!๐ŸคŸ

The on going support from my family, my crew, fellow competitors and importantly major sponsors has been incredible. I can not thank you all enough.๐Ÿป

Redline Raceway season finale, wrap up.

Another tough night at the skids. Between the cold air and suffering a little from ill health it was always going to be a hard night ahead.

Heat 1, Started P5. Battling to find a way past 4th, sadly got caught up with 4th and 3rd colliding, and ultimately leaving not alot of room to avoid contact resulting in the v95 of Callum Beveridge rolling over. Somewhat lucky to only have minor damage sustained to my own car I was able to finish the heat race in P9. Just not a great start to the afternoon, thats for certain.

Heat 2 Started P6, again battled my way to push forward to challenge for 4th, amongst the coughing fits I was having, resulted fogging the visor with 2laps remaining I fell back to finish in P6. With very little points banked for the evening I knew I would be at the tail end of the B main qualifiers.

B main, starting P8, working hard to find some opportunities to pass, made my way to P6 but making moves too late in our 12lap race meant that I would come up short of transferring to the A main. Transponder took a nap at lap 8, and didn't reflect my actual results on the scoring boards. But car was certainly coming on towards the end of proceedings. I'm still happy overall with the cars performance, recording 5th quickest overall in terms of lap times.

Car has plenty of pace on hand and my confidence in the car continually growing. Sadly just lack a smidge of luck to prove some worthy results this season. But that's motorsport as they say. Thank you to Ben Poli and Stevo for crewing again. It's muchly appreciated as always.

Last but not least, a big kudos to Mick Purdie and the Redline track crew for another stellar racing surface and event finishing nice and early.

This concludes my racing efforts for the 2023/2024 speedway season. Will do further wrap up on this season shortly this week.

Redline Raceway Debut in the G43 Unlimited Sedan.
Success with a hint of disappointment. But keen for more!

Finally rolled it out the gate after a number of foiled attempts over the last 2 years. It was such a good feeling to send this bad ass ride around the racetrack.
Cant thank my Dad enough, and to send it out for his birthday was pretty cool. It has been 45years since a Tuckett in a Geelong 43 turned laps at Redline. Was pretty special.

The apprehension leading up to this was at its peak, simply getting it to scutineering. Ha! Bert Boxes are a tricky thing to get your head around first time.

Heat 1 - Start P6 (ROF)- Finished P5, feeling things out before getting some clear track to let it eat. Peeling a good solid 2 laps before gathering up to the pack quickly. Just held back a little to keep things in check to get a little more confidence in the car and track.
It rips! Setting 3rd fastest overall time of the night. And 2nd fastest in that heat. Very different animal to the wingless.

Heat 2 -Start P6 - Finished P5.
Started off a little too hot, still coming to grips with handling and the track changes. Had a big spin into turn 3 but kept it going. Apart from overdriving, we ultimately had a few problems show themselves by the end of the heat race. We elected to pack up to fight another day, with a cooling hose that had swollen and had some fuel pressure fluctuations that we weren't comfortable to continue the night with. Disappointing but still really happy.

This will be the only run for 23/24 season we will hav for the moment in the VF Super Sedan
Little bit of maintainence and repairs ahead. Possibly some updates, but will definitely come out next season swinging. Watch this space!

Thanks Dad, Steve and Poli for Crewing.
Onto Nyora this week, back in the Wingless!

Merrett Family Memorial Trophy Night, Wrap up.
Well, I sucked. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‘

- Heat 1, started P3, felt back to P6 and struggled with how tacked up and rough the track was. Started to find a rhythm to move forward, until a red flag came out. Pulled up on the main straight and felt the front brake hang up. Upon restart, I wasn't able to. Brake rotor had heavily deformed and jammed the front caliper completely. DNF.

- Heat 2, replaced the brake rotor & hub and started out of P6, came out swinging and pushed thru to P3, held my own and kept my position. Very physical track, arms were feeling it by the end. Car is super good when things go right.

- B main out of P9, Minor changes to the car helped but was tough to find a line that didn't feel like I was going to end up on bungador road at times. Very briefly got to P8 and felt back hopping my way thru the ruts. By lap 10 I felt the brake pedal sink and something odd gave way, into Turn 3 I lost brakes completely as heavy white 'smoke' came off the left front wheel (boiled the fluid and it injected itself out of a bleed ni**le that was knocked loose by the mangled disc rotor). I Did managed to roll infield safely at least.
The disc rotor had broken free off the hub and effectively folded itself up into piece of origami, from being overheated, and stuck itself behind the caliper. DNF ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ a deflating end to the night.

I'm not 100% sure what the root cause was.
Pad compound was/is our first thought, possibly pads getting hung in the caliper was also a thought. Brake use was heavy all night, obviously too much. Will rebuild and try to lock another couple races in before the winter months kick off.

- Thanks to Colac Wreckers Bobby and Lynne for their unwavering support this week again, rolling out with new right rear tires and a fresh right rear wheel was unreal. A little bit of luck will go along way right now.

Race Results :
Redline Raceway, Ballarat

Heat 1 : P6 -> P6๐Ÿ
Heat 2 : P3 -> DNF๐Ÿšซ

Started the event off well, car felt good, I felt good.
Heat 1 got boxed in and worked back from the rear back to where I started. All good happy.๐Ÿ
Heat 2 confidence in the car soon squashed after the green flag, as I found the edge of the pit gate exiting turn 4 on lap 1, as the car pushed a little coming off the corner. Killed a wheel n tire, and damaged a shock.โ˜น๏ธ
No points accumulated meant I would start the B from the very back.

B Main
Started P17 - P11
Worked my way thru some early messes, got as far forward as P9, struggled to get drive on a surface that was I guess alittle greasy slick? Setup was a little compromised after the heat racing. So was just laps for data more than anything.

Honestly a little deflating, but have a bit of a gap again before we try again. Have some thinking to do at least. Running out of parts ๐Ÿคฃ

Big massive thank you for the assistance to Duncan and Meddings! Keeping things set n ready to go, keeping the words of encouragement up and just making my night rediculously easy! Credit to Mick and Redline Raceway proceedings finished by 945. I was home by 1130, washed up n packed away by 2. Ded by 230 ๐Ÿคฃ

After electing not to compete at last weekends Victorian Title at Portland, We're Back!
Race Week is upon us again, this time we are off to Redline Raceway, Ballarat for a Club Show along side 35 other drivers. With nicer weather forecasted should make for an awesome nights racing.

After our recent run at Avalon, I'm pretty eager to put some more solid laps down as the season starts to wind over.

I've not raced at Redline before, as previous attempts were ill fated due to weather, both last season and wayyyy back in 2005/06. But this weekend certainly isn't the first time a Tuckett in a 43 has headed out the pit gate at Redline though. Dad did quiet a few events back in his Modified Saloon days, as it was the next most local track asides Avalon & Brooklyn.
We do have few more events on the cards this season at Redline as well, but certainly fingers crossed for a clean first run!

Let's Go!

Avalon Raceway - DirtX Super Series Wrap up ๐Ÿ
If someone said to me after rolling over at Simpson last weekend, 'don't worry about it you'll probably win a heat race next meeting and getting upside would mean zero'. I would of said no chance. But motorsport is truely one of those things in life that have those lows to make the highs worth all the while and most importantly build perseverance. ๐Ÿคฃ

Heat 1 P1 -> P1 ๐Ÿ—
I think we got something working with this new car finally ๐Ÿคฃ. Felt really comfortable and confident in how the car was moving. Super positive start after last week. And to do it in front of family and friends made it even better. 15 or 16 years since my last heat win, the feeling is still the same, bloody awesome!
Heat 2 P10 - P6๐Ÿ
1 minor tweak and running the higher line of the track managed to pick off a couple spots early, the additional ones were a bonus, definitely had more for the 2 ahead but points and finishing was the key.

This qualified me directly into the nights A main event. 8th. 8th out of 50plus cars is a monumental achievement. ๐Ÿ’ฅ
A main P8 -> DNF ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ
Drop of the green, I made quick work moving forward using the narrow high line to get thru to 5th. I made the error of trying to make something work that I wasn't able to and just simply missed my marks, costing myself momentum, trying to find grip. I fell to roughly 10th by lap 12 and was belt around the ear a few times, then driven over, knocking the front end out of the car and sustaining fair bit of bolt on damage, ending our efforts for the event.๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ
As disappointing as it is ending on the tow hook, the small victories of getting thru to the top 10 heck even top 5 for a few laps, in a such a strong field of fast cars out weigh all of that.

Massive shout out to Aidan for being my spanner man again, we have had some results at Avalon this season.
Also a big shout out to Scott & Cooper Irons for the support and extra hands to get the car back together after the final to load up. ๐Ÿป

๐Ÿ Race Report from Simpson Speedway 10th Feb.
2024 Front Row Challenge

Up and down event, I really struggle to get the car hustling around Simpson it seems.

Heat 1 - Started P6 - Finished P11 - Poor Shock choices made the car way too hard to hang onto and hit the fence, Snapping the head of the jacobs ladder completely off. Hard enough of a hit to launch the Transponder off the car as well. ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Heat 2 - Started P7 - Finished P6 - Changed shocks around and gear set, was back to car I could drive and press forward with. Confidence back at least.

B Main 2 - Started P10 - DNF - Made a good start from the green flag, moved forward to roughly 6th by lap 3, before it all went pear shape. Attempted to avoid a flipping car ahead, only to be collected hard in the right side of the car which resulting in having my first roll over and finishing upside down. All happened pretty fast really.
Few things bent n broken. But overall pretty minimal, apart from smashed header pipes and side crash bar.
I was pretty frantic/panic stations upside down in the car at the time, with fluid going all over me. But was able to get out unassisted once turned back over, to the ambulance for a check over.

I can't thank Stewy enough for his assistance after my heat 1 antics, and Also Duncan again for crewing and helping with getting the car back onto the trailer after my upside down adventure.

Short turn around this week, as we head to Avalon Raceway for the final round of the Dirt X Super Series. Few late nights going over the car and rebuilding, and we should be all good to go again for this weekend.

How cool is this!?!
1 year ago I made my way back into a wingless at Avalon in the VX81 Colac Wreckers car.
12 months later, now riding in a Cool Chassis, built motor, fully prepped for spares, setup and fully wrapped by Sequoia Media, in a joint effort between myself and Colac Wreckers. Now we're dropping merch!๐Ÿ˜ฎ
I'm forever thankful for this opportunity, and the on going support from Bobby and Lynne. Super humbled for it all. ๐Ÿ™Œ

I had a pretty particular idea in mind for something I may not get a chance to do again into the future. I took the ball and ran with it, Dave @ Wild Ink by Activated Industry took all my ideas on board and had this drawn up for our racing merchandise for this old hack.
Very few changes were done after the initial draft was done (essentially just tidying up).
Really hit the nail on the head. ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Will be placing a decent size order this week all going well.
But I'd like to get some feedback on people interested asap for sizes.
Shirts and Hoodies will be available in both Kids and adult sizes.

Pricing :
T Shirts will be $35-40
Hoodies $65-70
(Larger adult sizes being the dearer/dearest)
Will work thru on a combo price for both as well.

For reference I wear these shirts n hoodies in a 2xl for a comfortable fit.

Summerslam 2023/2024 all finished up.
Night 1 at Borderline Speedway was tricky for us to get right out of the box. Finding a line and a setup that suited was difficult.
Heat 1 Started 10th Finished 11th
Water temp had the gauge completely clocked around, was a little concerning. Rebleeding the system and removing some panel work to allow air to pass helped alot.
Heat 2 Started 3rd Finished 7th, missed the setup a little as the car tightened up mid race forcing a few errors while in 5th. Car showed good speed when my lines were good.
B Main 2 Qualified 16th, fell to 20th after going wide in turn 1. But found my rhythm to come back thru to 11th.
Night 3 by this point had been called off and cancelled for us as well due to inbound weather.

Night 2 at Simpson Speedway. Finding the flexplate broken, was a bit deflating to start. Especially after setup before racing but we pressed on.
Heat 1, Started 10th again, over trying a few lines into 1 resulted in a half spin, and then a full spin, managed to come back from rear to 10th again.
Heat 2 Started 3rd, sadly the sunvisor said no bingo and decided to fold down and block my vision. I battled trying to hold it up. But filtered back down the field to 9th by the finish.
This gave me very little points for the event. And very defeated by this point as I struggled to get the car on point.
B Main 2 was then cancelled for the night with impending weather that was coming, so that was us for the weekend.

My weekend adventures didn't stop there, Scott Irons Motorsport having mechanical dramas with the old bus, I doubled back while heading back to Narrawong to collect the crew and get them to Ecklin with the assistance from The Warren's.

Rolling home Sunday evening to unload n pack the car away for now, for repairs and some reworking of some setup is inorder before we head back to Simpson for the Front Row Challenge Feb 10th.

Our next race event will be Jan 13th at Rushworth, to debut the Unlimited Sedan finally.

Trust that everyone had a safe start to 2024!

We are locked, loaded up & Summerslam bound this weekend.
The Victorian Summerslam Series is one of the, if not THE biggest wingless event outside of the Aussie Title.
3 nights of racing with 60 of the fiercest competitors from multiple states. Looking forward to rolling out!

I can not thank my sponsors enough for the support and encouragement this season, hopefully we can put on a good showing and simply improve. To qualify into the A mains this weekend will be a monumental achievement for myself & our team.

Basing ourselves out of Narrawong again with family,
Friday Night 1 will kick things off at Borderline Speedway, Mount Gambier. Then we trek to Simpson Speedway, Simpson for Night 2, and Night 3 finale at the recently widened Premier Speedway, Warrnambool.

Let's Go!
