👉 About the Role
Daniel & Leigh are excited to welcome a local, experienced parts interpreter or local school leaver willing to learn on the job.

🕰This is full time role, Mon-Fri 9am - 5.30pm and rotating Saturdays 8-12noon.

👉 Your main day-to-day tasks would include:

✅ Ordering automotive parts
✅ Quoting repairs
✅ Entering supplier and customer invoices
✅ Filing
✅ Welcoming customers
✅ Processing customer payments
✅ Processing credits
✅ Taking phone bookings and queries
✅ Reconciling end of month accounts

👉 About you

✅ Automotive parts interpreter qualifications (Preferred but not mandatory)
✅ Prior experience working with in the automotive industry
✅ Possible school leaver willing to learn on the job.
✅ A current Australian driver's licence
✅ An personal interest in cars
✅ You can work cooperatively in a team environment, but also confidently when unsupervised
✅ Excellent communication skills when dealing with customers and team members

What’s happening in the workshop today. Daniel and RJ are working on a straight 6 to V8 engine swap in a Ford.

Haven’t had your car serviced for a while? What’s the worst that could happen right? In this example the car was overdue for service and hadn’t had the tyres checked for some time. These tyres have split down to the canvas and the silver bits you can see is the wire inside the tyre. The edge of the tyre you can see here was on the inside edge of the car so the car owner couldn’t see it. Left any longer and the tyres were at risk of blowing out resulting in loss of control of the car. This is one of many reasons to service your car every 6 months or 10,000km. - Parts ordering/Quoting specialist X 1 (Full time or part time) - Have you got a passion for cars? Do you know loads about car parts? Have you or someone you know worked in the vehicle industry and are looking for a change of scenery? Possibly even a retired Mechanic looking for some work a few days a week off the tools?

Here is one reason why your car needs coolant and regular servicing. When you have your car regularly serviced the coolant level in your radiator is checked and when your mechanic recommends a coolant flush because the coolant is low it’s important to flush and replenish the cooling system. In this case because this car didn’t have any coolant the impeller in the water pump rusted and malfunctioned. This then resulted in a new water pump and possible rust throughout the engine. Moral of the story….. get your car regularly serviced and flush your cooling system when your mechanic recommends you too. ⭐️
