They say that patience is a virtue, and as such is it's own reward, but we think our small but loyal group of followers deserves more. Our previously unreleased debut Quarantine Sessions is finally available to stream, and/or purchase (links below). This was recorded remotely via file sharing during the depth of the pandemic lock downs and captures the glimmer of hope we were feeling at the time. It is perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon and marks the first release on Dread Pirate Records. Stay tuned for more goodies, releases and upcoming events, and follow us, share, like and/or subscribe on our associated platforms.
Big love to you all, and thanks for sticking with us!

Amazing, amazing work The Last Chance Rock & Roll Bar! Congratulations and thank you for your tireless energy to keep live music happening in Melbourne! And congratulations to the entire community out there who all came together and supported the campaign to keep The Tote a live music venue forever! We are elated!
Ok… well this is something we never thought we’d need to write.
We just want to clear a few things up.
We are currently still negotiating the sale of the Tote with the current owners.
Negotiations have been ongoing for almost a month.
They have made contact with us this morning to confirm this.
We, the Last Chance, are confident that we will secure the sale in the next few weeks.
Pozible will be collecting pledges over the next week.
This is from Pozible:
”We hope to start capturing the card payments for the Pozible campaign shortly, and you should receive an email notification from Pozible on this process before that starts. All payment-related queries should be directed to [email protected]”
To be clear…
That money will be transferred into a trust account set up specifically for this purpose to be held until we make the purchase.
We will not be able to access or use it for anything other than the purchase of the Tote.
In the very unlikely situation where a sale is not made that money will be returned to Pozible and refunded to you.
This was and always will be about securing the Tote for the future and to protect it forever.
And that is the outcome we are going to achieve.
We just want to tell you that you should be proud of what you did as a community.
You did this.
Don’t let anything take away from what you achieved.
We will buy the Tote.
The Tote will be put into trust.
And it will remain a live music venue forever.
In the words of the Peep Tempel:
“Don’t stress
Don’t stress think about it less
I said ‘Don’t Stress and think about it less
Don’t count the cracks that are appearing up ahead”
Because once we secure this purchase, and we will, we’re going to have them fixed.
Much love
The Last Chance

Wow.
That was a year.
We're still here, hope you are too.
Between lock downs and disasters, we managed to keep this ship afloat, and finally steered her to some calmer waters.
22 is already shaping up to be a big one for DPSS. And our first gig announcement of the year is a doozy
We are excited to announce our return to the fabulous Renaissance Festival, this time for the Easter Chapter (https://www.facebook.com/events/1853469104853568
This is a truly special event, and one that is very close to our hearts. An event that is built upon pure collaborative spirit, and one that delivers a unique and wholesome experience of love and unity.
DPSS will be setting up our super-flyweight hi-fi to compliment the main stage extravaganza with a finely curated side-platter selection of DJs, performers, improvisation and collaboration.
And speaking of the main stage...
On Easter Sunday, DPSS will present The Dread Pirate All Stars, comprising members of Electrodub Experiment, Steady State Massive and some very special guests. This will be EPIC!
Colour us excited. Hope to see you soon!
