Sri Lanka is home to a diverse range of banana varieties. There are over 40 different types grown across the country. Some common varieties include:

1. Seeni Kesel- Small, sweet bananas, often used in desserts.
2. Ambul- Larger and more savory, suitable for cooking.
3. Rathambala- A unique variety with a distinct taste and texture.
4. Karatta- Also known as plantains, used for frying and in curries.

Each variety has unique characteristics, including differences in taste, size, and uses.

On Thursday 11/4 at 2.19pm, my beautiful mum and best friend got her golden angel wings. Mum - Maryse Peiris battled cancer for over 12 years. Her faith in her Lord God was unwavering, her LOVE of her 5 children, their partners, her 13 grandchildren - their partners and 4 great grandchildren was unconditional. Her legacy lives on in all of us.
Words can’t describe the Gratitude and Love I have for you my darling Queen. ❤️🙏🌶️

The wilds of Sigriya, staying at - Centre for Eco-cultural Studies (CES)
Such a great place to get back into nature, meet the local villagers and maybe even volunteer for some animal welfare programs. The rawness, the beauty, the quiet splendour, the staff and the life dedication of the owners to make difference to the elephants, animals and their community is mind blowing and very humbling. I took my children here in 2009, they were 11, 15, 18. They fell in love with this place and the owners. I spent two nights on this trip and I wasn’t disappointed. I didn’t see elephants, but that’s ok, I spent time listening to the stillness, reflecting and learnt cooking on the open fire with the beautiful staff.

A short overnight trip to Kandy to visit some charities and see an Aunt. The scenery was spectacular.. a few food stalls on the way, Durian in season… looks good from far away and then the smell.. just couldn’t get past the smell 🤦🏽‍♀️. Maybe one day 😊
