After a sell-out autumn residency earlier in the year, it is such a pleasure to welcome Tom Sarafian back to our kitchen from Wednesday, August 3rd - Sunday, August 14th.

Tom's thoughtful approach to Arabic cuisine comes straight from the heart, with strong influence and inspiration drawn from his family, tradition and travels.

For two weeks only, you can experience Tom's generous and soulful cooking over a shared dinner menu that is layered with flavour, texture and spice. Southern Lebanese Kibbeh Nayyeh is prepared traditionally in a marble mortar + pestle intended to be scooped up by buttery chargrilled flatbread, while Syrian lamb fatteh is an aromatic hit, slowly cooked in a rich tomato and chickpea braise.

In Search of Lost Time is considered to be one of the greatest novels of our age. In celebration of this revered piece of work Readings Bookstore is delighted to honour Marcel Proust with a special event in our upstairs dining room this July.

Hosted by Australian novelist, painter, playwright and Proust devotee Antoni Jach, diners will explore themes of love, art, time and memory over a conversational dinner influenced by the culinary classics of French cuisine.

As part of the Melbourne Knowledge Week program this year we’re hosting a dinner next Thursday, May 12 based around the theme of Earth - sustainability, seasonality and waste minimisation.

Listen on as expert speakers, Daisy Slade and Phoebe Gardner, share their observations on the impact of food waste on the environment while offering some insight as to how you can adapt positive cooking methods at home.

City Cellar Door returns for 2021 with a new format: The Winemaker's Club. A series of intimate lunches that bring the vineyards, local farmers and suppliers of Victoria and Tasmania to Flinders Lane.

Tickets for Mornington Peninsula this weekend have now sold out but next up is Beechworth on Sunday July 18th, with Fighting Gully Road and Vignerons Schmölzer & Brown.

Throughout the next few months, we'll explore some of the country's most acclaimed wine regions, providing an opportunity to hear from the winemakers directly and what influenced each vintage.
