For our next Static Transmission, we are excited to have Local Legend WISER.!
Over the past few years, Wiser has turned into a household name among the Melbourne dance music scene. Rocking parties from Revs to Subclub Steph is always able to hit the vibe of her audience with her diverse array of sound.
We love Stephs passion for the scene which she has channeled into her event and mix series Dazed - Hard Dance Therapy. We were lucky enough to be able to join forces for a special edition of HDT earlier this year.
We hope you enjoy the next hour of encapsulating. ravey, synths and driving, punchy, basslines as much as we did.

ADMINISTRATOR & DJ GLUG, two energetic technoheads united under the Connection Verified banner, with a concrete vision for what makes folk move and groove on the dancefloor. Side-by-side and blow for blow, the two link up to create an explosive blend of tracks that borrows from both old and new skools. Listen in here to hear exactly what makes them tick (or tock).
One of the newest recruits of Static, Melbourne/Naarm based Sinister incorporates distorted tones reflecting industrial and fast-paced techno into his style. In addition to integrating Drum and Bass/Two-step genres, his sounds are rapidly intertwined to create a complex soundscape.
Strap in for 1.5hrs of power with industrial breaks and cinematic tones throughout, recorded from a recent PLEXUS party prior to the most recent lockdown.

Austrian born, Brisbane raised and now Berlin based, Metapattern has been involved in every aspect of the electronic music industry for over 15 years. During the pandemic he has been constantly working on a slew of new music to be released both digitally and on vinyl. On top of producing music he is also an Ableton Certified Trainer, he currently teaches at 343 Labs, a small music school in Berlin that has a sister school in New York and also does private lessons. In his downtime Metapattern finds himself digging for records both old and new, djing, raving and writing a book about the production of techno and its many sub genres. There is virtually no time in his day that isn't related to music these days and he is loving every minute of it. Metapattern will soon be working with Bomphcast, which is a Melbourne based Label and Podcast series, and he wishes to make the trip down under when international borders open up. Maybe we will see him grace a Static dance floor when he comes down. Who knows, nothing is certain in this world anymore. Well nothing, except that this podcast will make you sweat.

Rewind to October, as Static Transmission invites INÉS. As one of the minds behind Synesthetic we have become adoring fans of both her artistry as a DJ and as a Tattooist.
INÉS performed at Static Returns where she utterly annihilated the dance floor at our first event back post 2020 armageddon. Her love for the darker side of music is the sonic representation of her visual artwork and tattooing. Her mix for us weaves through the aggressive and chaotic realms of Gabber, Hardcore, and Techno.
To the listeners reading this. Hold on, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

With uncertainty surrounding club events in Melbourne, Static will be firing up the engine on a podcast series called Static Transmission. We hope this will provide an insight into our beloved styles by showcasing artists that have performed for us, alongside artists we hope to host in the future.
The first artist to be showcased runs his own international sonic destruction service and is a very dear friend of ours who we've had the pleasure of hosting twice. We go live at 12pm tomorrow so please follow us on Soundcloud to stay in tune with the happenings at Static.

Night 1 starting momentarily // :)
Back when things were a little bit more fun, we hosted a party with our dear friends, Synesthetic, which featured DJ Gigola, Reptant, Nenagh along with our resident DJs and artists. We had hoped to donate a half of the event profits to Wildlife Victoria to respond to the catastrophic bushfires that were severely impacting the livelihoods of animals across the state.
However, due to events outside of control, we have only very recently been able to get ahold of the profits from the event. Thank you to Radar for providing us with these funds. Because of this delay, we have thought it be more appropriate to shift some of this money towards are more currently pressing issue, the ongoing oppression of indigenous Australians across the country.
Ourselves and Synesthetic have split the donations between Wildlife Victoria and ANTaR National - an organisation looking to seek "justice, rights and respect for Australia's First Peoples".
We hope you're all hanging in there, and we can't wait to dance with you all soon 💕
Back on January 31st Static and Synesthetic hosted DJ Gigola at Radar. This event was held when bushfires were raging across Australia so in light of the fires we decided that 50% of all the profits raised were to be donated to Wildlife Victoria. We never made a post about how much money was raised for this and we would’ve been happy to announce that we raised $1,856.24 to be donated to the cause.
The reason this was never announced was because we only received a quarter of our door sales from the night from Radar. Any promoter will be able to tell you that door sales makes up a massive proportion of total revenue from your event. We went through every option we thought possible to try and receive the rest of our door sales from Radar over the past few months. We sent late invoice emails, warnings of a letter of demand and then we emailed a letter of demand and dropped one off in person to the venue which was received by a manager. Nothing was ever said back to us. All we got was a quarter of our door sales 2 months after the event had taken place without any attached dialogue to suggest that we were getting any more.
The main reason for this post is to try to get our door sales to finally donate to Wildlife Victoria and cover the rest of our expenses for that night without going down the long winded and forceful legal route. We understand that this is a difficult period for all of Melbourne’s club and overall community, however we have been patient and persistent with our attempts to retrieve our earnings from the night so feel like we have no alternative.
⛓⛓
Next week, we welcome Ben & Ollie from Static to Bunker & stranger present FJAAK (Live), Objekt & SPFDJ.
Static have been making waves within Melbourne’s local scene, inviting international artists such as Janein, Remco Weekwilder, DJ Gigola and Animal Holocaust for their event series that aims to promote inclusivity within the techno community. Ben and Ollie have forged a name for themselves collectively, supporting a plethora of heavyweight artists through the Static series and having played at local hotspots Radar, Sub Club and Francis 28 collectively. Showcasing a broad array of techno and electronic genres, the pair join us at The Bottom End, representing the Static series that they’ve cultivated as their own.
