At our dojo, the student lounge is often filled with an equal number of dads and moms attending to their kids, Somedays, it's all dads! So, here's a special shout-out to all our Dojo Dads from your kids - You’re the best!

Train with DAD day is incredibly special to us because it gives us the opportunity to share these memorable moments with our dojo families 🥰

You're welcome even if Saturdays are not your regular training days. There's no additional costs.

Dojo Dads, you may bring your little-lies to the SNR classes. Kids, if Dad is not available, Uncles, Granddads, Mums, are welcome.

Describing our Advanced Gradings can be challenging. They last a minimum of 3 hours and may extend beyond 4 hours. The grading truly begins when participants are mentally and physically exhausted, as this is when their muscle memory takes over, pushing them through what is to come.

It serves as an impressive showcase of our extensive syllabus and is always inspiring. So, we will be featuring photos and videos from our June Advanced Gradings over the next few weeks. Stay tuned 🤗

Father's Day is coming up earlier than usual this year. Our annual Train with Dad Day is scheduled for Sat 31 Aug. Save the date! Invitations will be distributed soon.

For new dojo families, Train with Dad Day (& Train with Mum Day in May) have been a tradition at Martial Journey for well over a decade! It's only 45mins each year, but the memories last a lifetime. Grown students, even former students, shared that Train with Dad (& Mum) days are part of their core memories growing up and how their families make time for it each year because it has become part of their family traditions! So please make room in your Father's Day schedule, even if Saturdays are not your regular training day.

We had a busy Open Day last Saturday. We have so much to be grateful for 🥰

Thank you Dojo Families for your referrals. Word of mouth is still the most powerful advertisement anyone can get. Thank you to our volunteers who donated their time and made all our visitors feel at home. We're immensely proud of our team for supporting each other and prioritizing the students' needs. We're super impressed with our students, who were completely unfazed by the distractions and remained focused on the classes 🙌 You are all superstars 🌟

We chose the no-frills, what-you-see-is-what-you-get strategy because we believe that 'as we are', we're more than enough. However, we still experienced last-minute insecurities... will anyone show up? would we stand out amongst everyone else's bling and noise? Being true to ourselves matters. It's often the braver choice because it feels incredibly vulnerable when there are no bells and whistles to hide behind. But that's how the right people find us.

Thank you once again for all the support. It fuels us to keep doing what we do best.

❤️RED & GREEN BELTS💚
We find that in our Intermediate Levels, our students hold themselves to higher standards. They expect more of themselves as their self-belief builds. What is truly special are the bonds they formed over the years. You see the trust in each other, even while pushing each other further. There's pain and sweat, but also a lot of giggling and shared laughter. Advanced levels are now in sight. We're so excited for them! We know that as awesome as they already are, they have not hit their potential yet.

Winter School Holidays is upon us! Our dojo is open with regular classes during the first week of school holidays. You're welcome to train as often as you like for no additional cost. We would love to see you.

🧡ORANGE & PURPLE BELTS💜 Presenting our newest Orange & Purple Belts, who graded last weekend 🎉

For this level, our students are tested on basic striking techniques, blocking, and evasive movements. They are also required to demonstrate a higher level of competency in their foundation techniques.

We can push them a little harder, because they're a little tougher. What makes us proudest is when we see, that they're proud of themselves too.

💛YELLOW BELT💛 Last weekend, we proudly witnessed these students go through their first grading at Martial Journey.

To earn their Yellow Belt, they had to demonstrate balance and an understanding of the stances. They have to fall correctly and get back up. They need to know how to get out of the way. Rolls are also part of our foundation because it's a recovery strategy. Every one of them earned their new belts through perseverance and grit!

We teach your children self-defence with the hope that they will never need to use it. But what they will hopefully use daily, is the ability to listen, give their best efforts, and not give up. One day, they will believe in themselves as much as we do.

We're not shy about admitting how we're especially proud of our parents who train. On top of bringing their kids each week, they are also committed to leading by example by hopping on the mat and training their hearts out.

Here we have a brand new Yellow belt mum, Purple belt mum, Blue belt dad, and 1st DAN Black belt mum! RawWR!!! Keep up children!

On the eve of our Gradings, we wish to share a snippet of an email we received from a dojo parent recently:

"One of his most important life lessons was achieving his Yellow belt. The significance there was perseverance and patience. Knowing that if you put your mind towards something and work very hard for it, you can achieve anything. This lesson alone is worth more to us than gold because of the specific positive mind pattern it has established for him." -Sandid B.

Our Gradings are designed to push limits. When our students achieve more than they believe they're capable of, they will re-evaluate and re-adjust their realm of possibilities. The joy is seeing them become more and more limitless 🌟

It's GRADING WEEK 🎉
It is important to arrive 10-15mins early in full uniform. Gradings are an important day. For our team to properly assess everyone and run to schedule, we have a lock door policy; which means, you will NOT be admitted if you're late or not ready. Please check your emails for more instructions.

Spectators are welcome but we request noise levels to be kept at a minimum. Photography is permitted.
