This past weekend a few of us participated in the first Big Chill Kendo Festival in Hobart, Tasmania.

Two full days of kangeiko was a great experience for our young members and a reminder to our senior members to focus on basic skills.

The event ended with the Southern Showdown Taikai.

Jin Feng was awarded the fighting spirit Golden Rosella for his efforts during the taikai.

Our small team was also awarded the Perky Penguin award for our kangeiko spirit.

Thanks to the Hobart Kendo Club for organising this outstanding event. Looking forward to attending it again next year with a bigger team.

For the past few years my kendo club has been supporting and raising awareness about mental health by getting our members to participate in the Push Up Challenge! This year I decided to create something to help raise funds for the cause.

For every $5 donated (link down below), you will receive 1 entry into the raffle for a sakura tsuba made in the challenge colour theme. If the winner does not do kendo, then they receive an omamori keychain in the same colours ✨ Postage will be covered by the club 🙌

A preview of the omamori will be released at a later time 😊
