Dan Stubbs & the Victorian Disability Worker Commissioner, will be hosting an open discussion on Monday 17th June 2 - 3.30pm at Ross House.

Open to all disability community members, advocates and allies, this is an opportunity to hear about the work the Commission is doing and discuss what good support looks like.

What can the VDWC do to better support people with disability?

If the VDWC is unfamiliar to you, it's an independent regulator committed to increasing the safety and quality of the disability workforce in Victoria.

The Commission regulates all disability workers in Victoria, regardless of how they are funded or who they are employed by. If something is wrong with your disability worker or the service you are receiving, they can take action for you.

Attendance both face to face or on zoom, register here to join us:

"People say that making new friends is really hard for them once they grow older, but I feel that it’s extra difficult after having a traumatic brain injury. [...] Previously, whenever I had something to share, I called a friend and discussed my thoughts. This served as therapy for me. I really miss this feeling ☹☹."

WWDA member Anat Bigos shares her experience of Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) in the latest Our Site Real Story, available now. Read the full story at Our Site here: https://oursite.wwda.org.au/stories/friends-or-the-lack-thereof

Anat's story is the 100th Our Site story we've shared - will yours be number 101? Email [email protected] with your pitch or for more information. Your story can be in any format - essay, video, poem - however you want to express yourself!

[Image Description: This is a post with two images. The first tile features a photo of Anat, who has pale skin, short brown hair and thin, rectangular glasses. She is wearing a bright blue hooded top and smiling. There is a purple frame on the left and bottom sides of the image. Large white text at the bottom reads "Friends (or lack thereof)". In a smaller font below this, text says "by Anat Bigos". The Our Site logo is in the top-left corner, with a small white subtitle that says "Real stories from WWDA members, only on Our Site".]
