Hi! My name is Lauren and I’m trying to raise a bit of money to help with the costs of Ace’s emergency surgery yesterday and additional emergency vet admission last night after post op complications.

Earlier in the week Ace was given small bones that we weren’t aware of and they became shattered and stuck in his stomach and intestines. It was only when he became unwell really suddenly that we found out about it and rushed him to the vet where he underwent emergency surgery to remove the bone pieces from his stomach and intestines.

Not long after we tried to take him home from the vet post procedure, he had complications and we had to rush him to another emergency clinic for further treatment. We have paid both vets in full at time of treatment and this cost just over $4000.

He has been sent home this morning now he’s stable but will likely need further follow ups as well.

Ace is an 8.5 yo rescue kelpie and the most beautiful loving dog and we are devastated right now that he’s unwell, but so grateful we got to it in time.

We’ve been hit financially from every single angle possible at the moment as have most people, but we would be unbelievably grateful for any bit of help we could get right now!

A side by side comparison of this custom coloured tape extension install from yesterday! I used 60pc of 20” (1.5 heads) in 4 different shades to be able to create the most realistic and dimensional blend so it looks like real hair, one of the most common issues I see with hair extensions is that they get matched to your colour on the day of install, and then as your hair fades and changes over time the extensions then don’t blend! I’ve budgeted for that and created highlights and lowlights that’ll change with her hair but still blend perfectly!

It’s my 30th birthday today 🎂 ♋️

Still cannot get enough of these reds! This was done originally back in December of last year with one application of our no bleach red in more of a hidden placement around the face, it grew out beautifully and we changed the shape of the cut to add a heap more layering and texture which then brought it all out to be the ✨star✨ of the show! Instead of adding more we just refreshed it and brought it back to life! Vivids don’t always have to be super high maintenance 💕

See this colour? Looks AMAZING right?! I’m going to use this as an example that sometimes things don’t always turn out perfect! Our goal for the day was actually a black halo section around the face and for some reason it just didn’t work and we were both super disappointed. Instead of gaslighting my client into liking it or telling them how awesome it was or that the result was out of my control, I apologised and I got them back in and FIXED IT last night! I unfortunately don’t have a photo of the fix up as it was night time and the lighting sucks at night but the point of this story is that I will always do everything in my power to make sure you are happy with your hair and feel seen and heard in my chair 🫶🏻

They’re a small section of hair we often take from a hidden spot on your head during our free consultations so we can determine the best plan of attack when we are formulating your dream colour!

Why do we take them?

Because we want to give you the best salon experience ever!

Here’s a few main reasons

* When working over previously coloured hair we can see what result we are likely to end up with and can give you the most accurate advice and expectations of what you’re likely to achieve, no one wants to get to the end of an expensive 7 hour appointment and be disappointed with a surprise colour they weren’t expecting 😞

* When working with hair that’s been damaged we can see if any breakage or texture change will occur, and prepare you with information on how much hair would need to be cut before going ahead, how long you’ll need to wait before it’ll be safe to proceed or getting you onto a new home hair care plan to ensure your hair health

* We can see if there’s any chance of a chemical reaction or adverse results if you have bad water at home, have been using supermarket products, take medications, have underlying health issues or are pregnant etc

* We can physically show you what colour we are likely to achieve before it ends up on your entire head for the foreseeable future, we then have room to tweak your formula if you’d like to and you know you’re going to be 10000% happy with your hair when it’s finished

* When working on textured or dark natural hair, we can see how light we can get you safely in one sitting and plan ahead if it will require multiple sessions to achieve your dream colour

Good morning Bayswater! My guest of honour has arrived and I’m ready to go! Look at the side by side comparison of what Ferntree Gully was vs what it is right now 😭 This is the last week of bookings at Ferntree Gully, it’s really hard to believe that 4.5 years have gone by so fast! Please bare with me over the next couple of weeks while I finalise the last bits of the two renovations and actually moving etc, I may be harder than usual to get in contact with 💕 to everyone that’s been incredibly patient and supportive so far while my entire life has been thrown into chaos over the last few months, thank you so much! It’s been such a relief to have everyone be so understanding while I handled all of this 💕 I’ll have more details regarding when I’ll re open in Bayswater hopefully by the end of the week/start of next week and will start sending everyone who is booked the new address and info etc as well!

I have just proudly registered as a member with the project 💕 you’ll see the stickers on our doors at the new Bayswater salon when you come to visit! So stoked to be a part of this and continue to welcome, celebrate and be a safe space for all our LGBTQ+ friends 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️

A lot of people often ask if I do curly cuts and colour and the answer is always yes! While not all colours and placements are suitable for curls, I can absolutely customise things to suit and we can make a plan together during a consultation to get the most out of your hair safely. I really really want to showcase more natural texture and curls this year, as I don’t have a huge amount of photos and videos of my natural curly babes! I forgot to take a before photo because of who I am as a person, but the starting point of this one was a pretty uneven canvas due to old colour banding and uneven bleach processing. needed it turned the f**k out to celebrate their birthday and I think we nailed it 💅🏻 using shades

I thought it was time to jump on and introduce myself to those that don’t know me yet!

I’m Lauren, or El Presidenté Féral

I’ve been a hairdresser for well over 10 years now, almost 5 owning this salon!

I’m extremely passionate about fu***ng awesome hair, especially vivids! It’s really important to me to provide a safe space for everyone to enjoy having their hair done in too, our space isn’t like normal salons it’s a lot of fun!

I am obsessed with birds, I could name almost any bird I see
My laugh is incredibly obnoxious
I do not understand boundaries and will ruin my life on a night out, ask me for stories at your next appointment you won’t be disappointed 😅
