'The museum, located in Bayswater, was the brainchild of a group of retired ambulance officers who formed the Ambulance Historic Society of Victoria in 1986.
The group began acquiring and restoring vintage ambulances, starting out with just six vehicles.
The fleet has since grown to 30, including the first Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance vehicle, a mass casualty bus and ambulance motorbikes.'

Victoria is expected to experience Catastrophic and Extreme fire conditions across the state tomorrow, so if you live in a high-risk bushfire area in these districts, you should be planning to leave early before any fires start.
Now is the time to enact your bushfire plan, making sure you and your family take action.
You can go to the home of family and friends who are outside the area, or a relief centre opened nearby.
Relief centres are now open in Ararat and Maryborough.
When you leave, ensure you check your route prior to travel. Have a backup route in case of road closures.
For those who are leaving their homes, let people know you are safe by registering via the Register, Find and Reunite service at register.redcross.org.au

🏡Covering cold and frozen food with an insulating blanket
🌡️ Checking the internal temperature of food items with a food thermometer before eating
🗑 If in doubt, throw it out.

This signals the worst possible conditions for a bush or grassfire. Fire activity will be at its most dangerous and will be fast moving, unpredictable and largely uncontrollable by emergency services.
Deputy Chief Fire Officer for Grampians region, Jason Hellyer said “Do not visit parks and forests in this region – they are not safe places to be and will be closed to the public. If you are already there, you should leave now.
Visit the FFMVic website https://www.ffm.vic.gov.au/ to view a complete list of forest closures.

We would like to remind residents:
• Do not visit Victoria’s parks and forests in this region
• Do not light any fires. It is illegal to light any fires when a day of Total Fire Ban has been declared. This includes campfires and all BBQs, including solid and liquid fuel barbecues, as well as unconventional heat sources such as rotisseries and portable grills.
• Stay informed about the weather and be observant
• Enact your bushfire plan as emergency services may not be able to respond at your location.
• If you see or smell smoke ring Triple Zero (000).
• On Catastrophic Fire Days the risk of localised power outages increases. Make sure you have your emergency kit ready, including a charged mobile phone and a battery-operated radio and torch.
We’ve got you covered this Wednesday night. A date with purpose. 😘

'There are 60 years between teen Shaun Lockhart and Colin Knot — but when they had strokes months apart, it was 60 minutes that made the difference in their recovery.
Doctors call it the "golden hour", when there's the best chance to restore blood flow and save threatened tissue from a stroke.
Fifteen-year-old Shaun was in Tara, about 350 kilometres north-west of Brisbane, when the symptoms began.
"He was paralysed down the right side, unable to communicate and could not understand us very well," his mother Ellen Edwards said.'
There are 60 years between them but when they had a stroke it was 60 minutes that made all the difference Compact and portable enough to fit in a backpack, a brain-scanning helmet could close the rural-city divide in stroke outcomes.
No rest for the wicked! Happy new years everyone - hope you’re having a safe and happy start to 2024. Pic c/o
