Cars and Culture part 1 of 3 08.06.24.

Motor Culture Australia was back today at the Wyndham Harbour for the Cars and Culture event which saw a diverse car line up from Super Cars, Custom Cars, JDM`s,Classics and bikes.

The family friendly relaxed event provides a great morning for like minded people to connect and share their passion for all vehicles and this morning there was a lot to see.

Another great event well done guys.

Cars and Coffee Melbourne event by Enthusiast Motor Ins pt 2 of 3

Photos from Olskool photography and classic cars's post 02/06/2024

The Cars and Coffee Melbourne event by Enthusiast Motor Insurance was on this morning down at the York on Lilydale Hotel. This was Enthusiast Insurance first event in Melbourne so it could of been a hit or miss event especially now with the winter weather settling in, but I`m happy to report the event was a success with all cars from new to old making there way up to the picturesque York Hotel for a great morning, which saw plenty of cars turning up for hopefully one of many events.

Great job Enthusiast :)

The Cancer Council Biggest Morning Tea. pt 2 of 2

Photos from Olskool photography and classic cars's post 01/06/2024

A fantastic morning down at the Cancer Council Biggest Morning Tea at the Rubber Connection in Dandenong South this morning. The rain kept a few cars away but it didn't keep people from donating and it was wonderful seeing so many people digging deep for a truly worthy cause.

Tomorrow the Rubber Connection is also having their swap meet so if you own a hot rod or a classic you best get on down there to hopefully grab a bargain.

On2Crew Bike & Car Meet 26.05.24.

On2Crew - Melbourne

The On2Crew Bike & Car Meet was on last Sunday at the Burvale Hotel incorporating the Kebab shop. This was the On2Crew`s first event and whilst it wasn't a massive event, it certainly was a great event. The event was to raise money for a worthy cause, which was raising money for one of their members who has been recently diagnosed with terminal Cancer.

Unfortunately cancer affects so many people and only recently my family wasn't immune from the impact of cancer so it was good to support the On2Crew.

Keep up the great work On2Crew.

Berwick Breakfast. 19.05.24

Berwick Breakfast Classic Cars & Rods

The Berwick Breakfast was on this morning. The usually packed out car parks were a bit empty today with the weather being cold and dismal, so only a few brave souls came out, but it was still a great morning to catch up with mates over a coffee.

The Good

MotorEx is an amazing event it showcases the workmanship of what goes into producing some truly outstanding builds. Its the best of the best, the build quality of these cars rivals any workmanship that the world has to offer and there is no denying this.

MotorEx once again this year had some truly outstanding builds that were mind blowing ,the entertainment over the weekend kept you busy there were attractions everywhere a fantastic day out.

The Bad

However whilst MotorEx showcases these cars the biggest conversational thing I heard not only at the event but weeks leading up to the event how unaffordable for most this event is becoming and this was certainly represented over the weekend due to the lack of attendances both in real street and public admission.

You could argue that the pricing is justified with liability insurance, entertainment, road management etc you could say to people who are saying the prices are to steep then don't come but I'm sorry in my opinion the cost is becoming just unaffordable for some. Example in 2018 real street to enter was $35 now $125. Like always you could buy an early entrance ticket for $105 however why is it discounted early and then price hiking up the price later that ,ol quick get in early urgency trick doesn't cut it these days.

General admission in 2018 was I believe $10 now $70. Parking I think was $20 per day over the weekend ? So that's $90 for 1 adult before you get in the gate this year. A lot of Australians are struggling and simply cant afford to be spending money on a car event at these prices, let alone buying something to eat at the event especially taking a family out.

But here is the kicker on Sunday I was told that some of the p***c just walked in for free nobody was at the gate at the rear entrance. Not only that and I did this if you went on line and bought tickets for general admission and typed in REPCO in where the coupon applies it discounted the general admission 1 adult pass to $45 plus at one stage on Sunday you could of driven your car into gate 2 and just parked for free so whats the real cost?

I was fortunate enough to get in for free with my car club and the good guys down at Rarespares but I probably would not have gone this year if I had to pay the admission prices MotorEx were asking. I just don't know if the fee was worth the price when you add up petrol tolls and entering your car in the event at $125 -$250.

My Take

In years past real street was jam packed both ovals were full this year about 40 -50 cars. On Sunday Real street was dismal only a few cars. Motorex in my opinion would of been better off charging $35 dollars per car for real street and the ovals would of been jammed packed, the way I see it if MotorEx wants to remain in Melbourne then it needs to change its pricing it needs to attract people not turn people away by making it out of reach for some but it still is a great event and I for one would love it to continue.
