Well yesterday Helsinki was invaded by Vikings 😀that’s right 2 Viking Cruise ships were in port and it boosted the number of tourists considerably.
Our day started with a lovely walk along Esplanadin Puisto. (It was inspired be the Champs Élysées)which has lovely floral displays, and signs saying beware of attack seagulls! After this we made our way to the much promoted Flea market only to arrive and find it only operates at weekends. 🙃Just a minor detail that wasn’t in the guide book
Next we went to the beautiful Church built into a rock with a big copper dome as the roof It was stunning
Next was time for lunch at an old Market building. We had salmon and potato cream soup and it was yum! With Big chunks of salmon in it served with crusty sour dough bread . (We Dunked our bread much to the distaste of the prim Finnish lady sitting near us )
After lunch it started to rain so headed back to our hotel for shelter and a rest

Escaping the cold in Melbourne to colder climes to find Polar bears. So excited😀
