Our Story
The Naked Spud is owned and run by Lynn Fields & Dave Joiner.
We are yet to develop our story as we have just recently purchased the business...however below we pay homage to the founders of the operation...
It started out like any other Thursday night dinner time. We were having Jacket Potatoes with lashings of butter and Coronation Chicken. Craig had never tasted coronation chicken before - it was love at first taste!
The seed of an idea was planted and little 'Spudley' was born on a sketch pad late that night. The toppings and ideas then started to flow as we decided how to bring our idea to life. Meanwhile the food truck industry was exploding on the Gold Coast with trendy new events and incredible food vans arriving daily. It was the perfect fit for our product.
Our food trailer is state of the art with two beautiful traditional King Edward potato ovens in claret red imported from the UK. The ovens are recognised as one of the best potato ovens in the world, cooking the perfect fluffy spud.
We hope you love our potatoes as much as we love cooking them and look forward to meeting you at our next event!
