Q. Should I get breast surgery before or after pregnancy?

A. It is recommended to have breast surgery after pregnancy and breastfeeding as these will cause your breasts to sag down more than usual and potentially alter the desired results. However, it is possible to have certain breast surgeries before pregnancy, but it may in some situations impact your ability to breastfeed properly.

Q: What does a scrub nurse do during surgery?

A: Scrub nurses conduct a surgical scrub before surgery, and then enter the surgical theatre to set up the operating area for the patient, ensure all hand tools are sterile and help perform other hands-on tasks during the surgery.

Q: Is 74 (or, more specifically, mid-50s and above) too old for a breast reduction?

A: There are no guidelines or rules for when you may be too old to consider a breast reduction. As long as the surgical procedure is performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon, such as A/Prof. Dean White, breast reduction surgery can be done as safely as those above the age of 50 as those below the age of 50.

However, suppose you have a prominent medical history or any underlying health concerns or issues. In that case, it is advised for you to book your consultation with Mr Dean White to express these concerns. This will better establish the eligibility for the procedure.
