Is it just me, or does it seem like if you were born in Australia, your first job was at McDonald’s?
At the age of 38, I have successfully navigated the realms of being a DJ and promoter. However, I am now embarking on a new chapter of my musical journey by dedicating myself to learning and mastering various instruments. The pursuit of enhancing my musical skills is a priority, as I firmly believe that music is a lifelong journey that can be savored at any point in one’s life.

“As someone who embraces Kikuyu indigenous practices, I have learned the importance of understanding and preserving our traditions while living in the Western world, often referred to as Babylon. It is essential to grasp the fundamental practices and values so that we can pass them on to future generations. It is not necessary to feel pressure for not being fully indigenous, as these traditions are inherent within us from our ancestors.”

It has been a lengthy journey since the establishment of this clothing brand in 2001 as Lion Wear, transitioning to Rasta Lion Wear with a Jamaican-inspired aesthetic. Now, it is time to reconnect with my authentic roots and celebrate my achievements. As a Kikuyu, I believe it is time to infuse my own ethnic and traditional essence into my designs, blending it with the Rastafarian culture. Introducing MŨRŨTHĨ WEAR! Mũrũthĩ translates to Lion in Kikuyu, symbolizing a return to the original name of this creative venture.
A line of stylish streetwear inspired by African, Kikuyu, and Rastafarian cultures.
