Warrandyte CFA
Warrandyte Fire Brigade, a 100% volunteer brigade of the Country Fire Authority of Victoria.
Warrandyte is part of Region 13, whos boundaries extend from Warrandyte to the east, Templestowe to the west, Doncaster East to the south and the Yarra River to the north.
First drives for some of our volunteers today, with new driver training commencing at Warrandyte. ๐
SPILL ON ROAD TAKE CARE
Be aware of oil/diesel on Jumping Creek Rd, near Potters and take care to drive to conditions
Four of our volunteers spent their weekend attending CFAโs Safe Working At Heights (SWAH) course at VEMTC Bangholme training ground.
Now qualified to setup safety systems required to work at heights of up to two-storeys, or where there is a risk of a fall from an unprotected edge (such as a cliff).
Not only does this build our brigade capabilities, but qualifies Warrandyte volunteers to work with FRV, SES, interstate agencies and on significant events such as storms; where SWAH conditions are needed.
โ๏ธBE CAREFULโ๏ธ
Our volunteers are currently attending a call where a truck has diesel leaking near Blair St and Betton Cres.
Avoid the area if possible, the road is very slippery as we manage the needs for safety.
A great acknowledgement for our brothers in arms at South Warrandyte CFA. Congratulations Captain Cam Mackay. Well deserved.
SWFB Captain Cam MacKay received a Deakin Community Award this week for his work in giving back to our local community. Congratulations and well deserved Cam!
Oh Andersons Creek Primary School, how you have filled our cups!
Last night at our monthly brigade meeting, our volunteers opened your jars and read your words of gratitude from attending the Thank A First Responders Day on Wednesday.
What a way to feel valued - thank you for all your kind words, funny tales and colurful hearts.
The Captain said โraise $4,000 and you can dunk meโ. The Andersons Creek Primary School community responded with gusto and this afternoon in 4 degree water - the captain did fall ๐ฆ โ๏ธ

This week our all-female recruit course started their General Firefighter program. Pictured here the new recruits are with their mentors. Welcome aboard and all the best with your volunteer role within South Warrandyte.
Weโve attended 5 calls to car related incidents in 46 hours. Thatโs on top of two other calls our volunteers attended this weekend.
Slow down. Be careful! People are being hurt!
WOW - Wear Orange Wednesday is here. Thank you to our partners in emergency service - A truely great bunch!

Learn new skill sets and you might even change your career! Through the free training offered by CFA, our 5th Lieutenant Scott has found a new professional career outside of volunteering - and he says weโre not a bad bunch. ๐ฉ๐ปโ๐๐งโ๐๐ฉ๐ปโ๐๐งโ๐๐

It's Wear Orange Wednesday tomorrow to thank SES Volunteers. Our local SES unit SES Manningham Unit, complete an incredible amount of jobs in our area with river rescues to storm damage and even help us with local events like the recent Warrandyte Festival.
So shout out to all SES volunteers, but especially those that work with us. THANK YOU SES - your are our kind of people!

The theme this year for is ๐ฆ๐ผ๐บ๐ฒ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ฒ. Guess what our 2nd Lieutenant Louise loves about Warrandyte CFA and what gives her a buzz from volunteering with us?
It's National Volunteer Week, and at Warrandyte CFA we are 100% volunteer run. We have 50+ members, with more new recruits starting just last week.
A powerhouse of volunteers ready to protect and serve our community.
Thank you to all our volunteers, but also to all the other volunteers that make Warrandyte clubs, schools and organisations flourish.
Happy National Volunteer Week
WOW - Wear Orange Wednesday is coming up this week.
Dearest Gentle Reader, did you miss me?
This author finds herself compelled to bear the most curious of news. It seems the rampant rumours of failed nuptials and devious deals, is not the only gossip our dear Featheringtons must manage at present.
It seems Penelope Featherington has apparently been associating, unchaperoned, with the company of State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers. Madame Delacroix has proven herself capable yet again, crafting the tangerine attire and thereโs been whispers amongst those residing in the palace that this colourful frock has caught the Queens eye.
And so, Gentle Reader, the Queen has declared for all in the ton to wear their brightest orange attire on Wednesday 22 May 2024 in celebration of our fabulous SES volunteers.
Police want to hear from witnesses.
Please see below.

Happy Motherโs Day to all the mumโs connected with Warrandyte CFA. We have mums who are fire fighters, mums in support roles, mums who feed us when we get home from calls and mums that keep the homes going while partners are out on calls.
Mums are the best. Today and every day - we thank you!
An interesting read on the history of breathing equipment that our fire fighters use today.
On Saturday evening, we responded to a call reported as 6m high flames.
After some investigation, the fire was found to be at the rear of a construction site where it is alleged building waste was being burnt. The burn off was not attended and CFA crews extinguished the fire.
You will note the large size of this burn off, by the steam volume against the fire truck dimensions.
It is important to register your burn offs with council or ESTA. It is a requirement that all burn offs must be attended, have a water source available for extinguishment and must be compliant with local bylaws.

Today we marched and attended the Warrandyte RSL ANZAC service.
We remember those who have served to defend and acknowledge those who still serve. And our thoughts are with loved ones who have supported and continue to support our service men and women.
Lest We Forget
And weโre back today at the Festival, stall style!
