Game Day Performance Guide 10/05/2024

It's amazing how many athletes work hard on the training track and in the gym all week to prepare for game day and then eat half a dozen dim sims and skip the warm up before the game.

The 24hrs pre and post game provide a huge opportunity to optimise you pre game performance and enhance your recovery before the next game.

Good Friday Wrap Up

On Good Friday Nathan was set the task of completing a 500m Ski, 1000m Bike & 500m Row for every $50 donated through our community.

We managed to raise $2345 resulting in 47 rounds, taking nearly 6 hours and covering 23.5km and the ski & row ergs and 47km on the echo bike.

Thank you to every once who donated, joined us for a strength session or a yoga session with on the day, came through to hang out and provide support and sent through messages of encouragement. It was all greatly appreciated and we could have raised these for such a great cause without you.

The gym will be closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day but will be back open on:

We are starting a Preseason Sprint Club!

This is for anyone who wants to:
💥Increase top speed
💥Become more explosive
💥Improve running technique and move more economically
💥Improve football specific fitness
💥Do extras in conjunction with your regular training
💥Build up your sprinting load so you can recover better in season
💥Decrease the chance of developing a running related injury

Each session will consist of:
👉Coached sprint mechanics, change of direction and plyometric exercises
👉High speed running and individualised coaching
👉Small games to create a competitive and engaging environment
👉A short, football specific conditioning block

Pre Surgery ➡️ Rehab ➡️ Performance

Mr Consistent .young39 has nailed his progress this year.

After booking shoulder surgery at the end of the 2022 football season, he started with a pre surgery training block to build some strength and aid in a better recovery. And he hasn’t looked back since.

Completing a solid rehab and progressing to performance based sessions to help him dominate on the field.

Looking forward to seeing what the big guy can do with an clear run through to season 2024.

Congratulations to and who completed the Surf Coast Marathon over the weekend.

Their hard work during their prep both in and outside of the gym definitely payed off as they not only completed the marathon but now Katie and Joe have new PB’s under their belts.

Every year on Good Friday the team at Momentum set themselves a huge challenge to help raise funds for the Good Friday Appeal to support the Royal Children's Hospital and the amazing work they do.

This year on Good Friday from 8am, Nathan will be sitting on the Rogue Echo Bike and for every dollar you donate he will be matching that with 1 calorie with the aim of raising $2000. Every donation, no matter how large or small will be accepted and greatly appreciated.

Through out the day at Momentum there will also be other fundraising activities on offer:

Strength Class @ 8am

Conditioning Class @ 9am

These will be donation based and you can contribute any amount you wish, all are welcome.

Recovery Sessions $25 for 30 minutes of infrared sauna / Compression boots. With all funds contributed to the cause.

*Classes & Recovery session donations will not count towards the calorie challenge.

In celebration of international women’s day, Momentum PT will be running a “Women’s Deadlifting Party” this Saturday at 10:30 am.

This is a FREE 45min class focusing on deadlifts and caters to all fitness and experience levels and is open to all family and friends of current members as well as non-members.

The aim of the day is to enjoy training along side the girls while feeling strong and confident.
