Melbourne Producer Spotlight - DJ Decktektive
DJ Decktektive has been an avid music collector since the age of 11. An introduction to Hip Hop at the age of 12 became the roots of a career he wanted to pursue.
His strength doesn’t just reason upon his vast musical knowledge, or his contextual understanding of each album, but his ability to filter through music to come out with an ‘All killer no filler’ vibe. A broad spectrum view of hip hop that extends to more than just the hit singles means that many of his followers will be introduced to music they may not be familiar with.
After 10 years of turntablism and dedicating over 4000 hours of practice in that time - Decktektive is well on his way to mastering the art of DJing. He attributes a large amount of his DJing knowledge to being mentored by Australia’s finest, including 3 time Australian DMC Champion B-TWO.
Decktektive has been, and continues to be, behind several Hip Hop nights around Melbourne. The most successful night “Can I Kick It” is Melbourne’s largest Hip Hop open mic night which was run along side DJ Daily.
Decktektive’s has released of several mix tapes over the past 6 years and strives to continue to be an active member of Melbourne’s Hip Hop scene.

Melbourne Producer Spotlight - Em Flach
Em Flach stormed onto the scene in 2018 with “Let It Fall”. He continues to create ‘penthouse music from the ground up’ with his new single “Luxe”.
Working with up-and-coming Sydney producer Luke Ge**er (Mel Blue, Ed Wells), this vibrant piano-driven instrumental is a celebration of all things lofi. “Luxe” is alive and well, with each kick drum a heartbeat, living up to its confident title. Influenced by the beauty of his home mixed with international flavours from his past travels, Em Flach is elevating beat-making to the next level.

Happy International Women's Day from our two-woman team here at Melbourne Minute. Here's to all the women out there killing it! 👩🏾👩👩🏽👩🏻
Here are a few of our team's proudest achievements:
In 2020 we raised grant funding for projects that supported 100 creatives through the pandemic.
We're working on 3 of our own independent community projects including a 24/7 stream of local hip hop music with 38 Melbourne producers, and a documentary on the Melbourne music scene featuring interviews with Dub Fx, thando, N'fa Forster-Jones, Elle Shimada, Monkey Marc and Mr. Ruckman.
We're also collaborating with the Vinyl Vixens collective to run a full year of live streamed gigs featuring their 60 female and GNC DJs.
Our projects have been supported by Creative Victoria, Moreland Council and Yarra Youth Services.
Our business is now in its 4th year! 4 thoroughly enjoyable years of supporting all our amazing, talented artists in the world's live music capitol 🎉

Here at Melbourne Minute we are passionate about supporting and empowering local independent musicians and small businesses. We’re deeply embedded in the Melbourne creative arts scene and have a strong community focus.
We find that so many talented artists are stumbling at the early hurdles in their career because they aren’t aware of the basics that are required to contend in the music industry. Our aim is to help you build a solid foundation and point you in the right direction.

Emerald is a talented photographer, videographer and editor. She has a knack for capturing the energy of a scene and discovering unforgettable moments in the midst of action. Her creative eye is drawn to rich colours and immersive, expressive moments. Driven by her love of Melbourne’s dynamic underground scene, she specialises in creating engaging online content from live music gigs.
Emerald works closely with artists and their teams on social media ad campaigns and release schedules for musicians.
