🌸Hormonal Fluctuations: One of the most noticeable changes in the skin during pregnancy is hormonal fluctuations which play a significant role in altering the structure and function of the skin. These hormonal fluctuations are primarily driven by increases in estrogen, progesterone, and other hormones such as human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG).

🌸Increased Estrogen Levels: Estrogen levels rise dramatically during pregnancy, reaching their peak in the second and third trimesters. This hormone plays a crucial role in stimulating the growth of blood vessels, which leads to increased blood flow to the skin. This heightened circulation can result in a healthy glow but in turn, can exacerbate diffused redness and erythema leading to a skin that is easily ‘flushed’.

🌸Progesterone: Progesterone levels also surge during pregnancy, leading to several skin-related changes. Progesterone has been linked to increased sebaceous secretions produced by the sebaceous gland, which can result in increased oil secretions and in some cases, acne formation. Additionally, progesterone can affect melanocyte activity, potentially contributing to the development of melasma, or discoloured areas of skin on the face and body.

I’ve been in this industry for 16 years and we’ve definitely had to pivot continuously over the last four years. With interest rates, personal changes, competition at a lower rate, job losses, and everything else in between, we need to pivot our business a little bit.

We are changing the hours that we are open, changing staff availability, policy and procedures and our treatment menu.

This isnt negative change, it’s just a pivot and trying something new 🙋🏼‍♀️

What this might mean for your next treatment is: Booking your treatment in advance, ensuring you are giving us 48 hours notice for cancelations, preplanning your treatment plan and product pickups.

•Cleanser: Start with a gentle cleanser to remove dirt, oil, and impurities from your skin. 20 cent piece, rub in for 1 minute and wash off

•Exfoliate: Once a week / every 2 weeks. Pea size of product rubbed into your skin until the product feels dry and then wash off with your Dermaviduals cleansing cloth.

•Lotion P / lotion N / Lotion M / Face Tonic : spray directly onto skin or into your finger tips and rub in.

•Serum: Apply a pea size of serum with active ingredients that is bespoke for your skin type to target specific skin concerns.

•Moisturizer: Hydrate your skin with a moisturizer appropriate for your skin type to lock in moisture and balance out your skins natural oils.

•Eye cream / Gel : 5 cent piece size and dabbing under eye and around your crows feet ( sides of eye )

•Sunscreen: Finish with sunscreen during the day to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.

•Lip balm: Ensuring your lips are also healthy and hydrated

HOW OFTEN DO YOU NEED TO BOOK A BROW APPOINTMENT ?

The frequency of brow waxing and tinting can vary depending on your hair growth and personal preferences. We recommend every 4 weeks to stay on top of it and have them looking and feeling great.

Most people benefit from waxing every 4-6 weeks to maintain a well-defined shape and remove any unwanted hair.
Brow tinting: Tinting typically lasts around 4-6 weeks, so you may want to schedule it alongside your waxing appointment or as needed to keep your brows looking fuller and more defined.

LASH EXTENSION AFTERCARE

1. Avoid getting your lashes in sweat / steam for the first 12 hours after application.
2. Be gentle when cleaning your face, avoiding rubbing or pulling on the lashes.

3. Avoid oily products to avoid breaking down the adhesive.

4. Clean and Brush your lashes daily with a clean spoolie to keep them neat and prevent tangling.
[ Never brush lashes wet ]

5. Avoid sleeping on your stomach or sides to prevent crushing your lashes.
[ Purchase a silk pillow case from us ]

6. Avoid using waterproof mascara or oil-based products around the eye area.

7. Schedule regular 2-3 week refill appointments to maintain the look of your lash extensions.
