Pretty surprising huh? These two questions NEED to be asked but rarely are.

1. Do you have Working with Children Checks?
2. Do you have Public Liability Insurance?

Why are these two questions so important?

First of all, you need to know if the people you’re hiring to be in the company of children are safe to do so.

What is a WWCC?
‘The Working with Children Check is a screening process for assessing or re-assessing people who work with or care for children in Victoria.
We take a detailed look at the criminal history and relevant professional conduct findings of applicants to ensure we’re helping to protect children from sexual or physical harm’

It’s not a risk you should be willing to take.

Secondly, making sure your entertainer has public liability gives you the peace of mind that in the rare occasion someone gets injured or your property gets damaged they are able to cover the costs involved with repairs.

Look after yourself and your guests by making sure you’re hiring a professional who has all the appropriate credentials

It’s super important when hiring kids entertainment that you know your numbers.

Not how many you THINK will turn up but how many you actually INVITED. This is the number of children you sent invites to (including the siblings of your kid’s friends! This can often get overlooked!!)

It’s very likely that when you book with us you won’t have your RSVPs to inform us on the ACTUAL numbers. So what do you do??

This is how a lot of my phone convos play out…

⭐️Client: “We have 12 kids attending, how much will that cost?”
🌈Me (Renee): “Awesome happy to quote, but just to clarify, is 12 the highest possible number of children in attendance?”
⭐️Client: “ohhh we have about 20 kids but the 11 and 12 year olds won’t get involved, they are too old and same with the 3 year olds they are a bit too young”
🌈Me: “okie dokie, so I’m going to quote you on 20 kids because…. [I’ll then start explaining]

What am I explaining?

Well, I’m explaining to the client that if less kids turn up, that totally fine. The kids attending will get absolutely spoilt rotten. Our entertainers will add more VALUE! This means, EXTRA face painting on the arms, MORE balloons or more impressive designs or perhaps we get to play games for LONGER!! BONUS!!!!!⭐️😃 we could even chuck in an EXTRA service! WOOOOHOOO!

Now the issue with low balling the numbers and basing your number on assumption is that you can really stuff things up 😣 What I mean is…Kids who you THOUGHT wouldn’t get involved are now wanting to 😟 not to mention the extra siblings that rocked😖 and those 3 families who said they couldn’t make it? Well, their schedule changed last minute and they’ve just turned up.😩 It just goes from bad to worse.

Your entertainer has to try and squeeze all the extra kids in. This means the quality of interaction and designs are reduced. Your entertainer won’t have time to build rapport with kids. Which isn’t good for those anxious/shy children who take a bit to warm up!.
The WORST and most HORRIBLE situation is kids completely miss out.

If you’ve ever experienced this as a parent it’s not nice. Your guests will spend time trying to comfort their upset kid at your kid party 😖😖 not a good vibe.
