Yesterday marked the end of an incredible journey as our SL1W Green team closed their VVL 2024 season in the quarter-finals. We couldn't be more proud of each and every one of you. Your dedication, passion, and unwavering team spirit have been nothing short of inspiring.

We are splitting the tournament into 2 pools with different net heights:
Pool A (net height 2.43m) - mens
Pool B (net height 2.35m) - mixed
Don't miss out as we are capping the number of teams.
We kicked off the VVL Season 2024 with 8 teams in action!
Here's a brief rundown:
- Our Premiere Mens 2 engaged in a thrilling 5-setter against the defending champions, Melbourne University Renegades, unfortunately falling short in the final set at 10-15.
- What a comeback for our Premiere Womens 2 against Maroondah Cobras! Despite being down 2 sets, they rallied to victory in the 5th set, clinching the match with a score of 15-10.
- SL1 Mens, SL3 Mens, and SL2 Womens secured their first wins of the season, while SL1 Womens Blue and both SL2 squads faced defeats in their opening matches.
Excitement is mounting as our Premiere 1 divisions and youth teams gear up for their first matches on April 13th. The club is poised to make a strong impact this weekend!

There will be two open trials on 28 April and 5 May at the State Volleyball Centre, Dandenong Stadium, for men and women seeking selection to the Victorian U19 and U23 representative teams to compete at the Australian Junior Volleyball Championships (AJVC). The AJVC will be held in Adelaide, South Australia, 11-14 July, 2024.

There will be open trials on 12 (boys) and 19 May (girls) at the State Volleyball Centre, Dandenong Stadium, for boys and girls seeking selection to the Victorian U14, U15, U16, U17, and U18 representative teams to compete at the Australian Youth Volleyball Championships (AYVC). Successful athletes will then be invited to two additional closed trials on 26 May and 2 June. The AYVC will be held in Bendigo, Victoria, 15-20 September, 2024.

We are excited to announce that the 2024 State League (VVL) tryouts are open for registration! 💚💙
Tryouts will be held throughout January and the following divisions will open up for the new season and include both men's and women's teams:
Premier League (Division 1 & 2)
State League (Division 1, 2 & 3)
U19 Junior Premier
U17 Youth State League
U15Youth State League
Why you should try out for Volley Friends!
Overall 2nd place in the 2023 State League as a club, with a season result of 11 out of 12 teams making finals , 4 teams claiming gold medals and a total of 8 MVPs!
2022 ACVC national champions and 2023 runners up.
4 nationally accredited coaches and 2 state coaches.
Tryouts will be separated into three stages.
First stage (Jan 9-12) will be testing general skills and knowledge.
Second stage (Jan 16-18) will focus on specific skills.
Third stage (Jan 23-25) will be more team-based to determine the level to which each player is suited.
