MPSC Newsletter May 2015 People recovering from heart attacks have a lot to attend to. They face the shock of a close call; their initial recovery may take longer than they expect; and, to top it off, they get a new regime of medications, diet and exercise. It can be overwhelming.

Coronary angioplasty is a method of opening up blocked arteries to restore natural blood flow. It is performed by a small catheter being threaded through the skin into your artery (from your groin or wrist). Once the catheter has been deployed, a balloon can be advanced over a wire into your artery and inflated to open up the blocked artery. The procedure will take around 30 to 40 minutes and may require a hospital stay overnight.

Delightful fully renovated rooms are available for sessional rent at our specialist consulting centre. The centre is conveniently located on Mount Alexander Road in Moonee Ponds with great street exposure and easy access to public transport facilities. Stress echocardiography, also called an echocardiography stress test or stress echo, is a procedure used to determine how well your heart and blood vessels are working. You will be asked to exercise on a treadmill or stationary bike while doctors monitor your blood pressure and heart rhythm. The test can take between 5 to 15 minutes to complete.
