EXHIBITING ON THE WALLS OF THE CANON EXPERIENCE STORE 😊

Hello friends, we hope everyone is keeping safe and well during lockdown.

Since we have some time on our hands, we have started to plan the next curation of 9 new images for our walls to welcome everyone back after lockdown (whenever that may be). This will be the 5th time we’ve been able to exhibit and display beautiful work from the Canon community and many of those artists are now displaying their images in their home! (we actually love seeing this).

So! We are opening for submissions of interest if you would like to be one of the next 9 artists to have your art displayed. For those who have visited the store you know these prints are BIG! Around 60 x 40 inches. Once the prints are replaced, you as the artist get to keep your print and take it home as a thank you for exhibiting with us. They are mounted on a foam board, so very light and easy to hang at home, you’ll just have to find a big enough wall.

Please read through the guidelines for submission below as this will help us be able to choose the images that will suit.

• Image must be taken on a Full Frame Canon Camera with only marginal or no cropping to the file and standard 3:2 aspect ratio (for both landscape or portrait orientation) This allows us to print at this large size and avoid resolution loss so they look the best they can.
• Images that look the best are bright, colourful and identifiable from a distance! See some previous submissions in the picture as an example. While we love and appreciate all type of imagery, shots with a lot of dark areas tend to get a bit lost on our large white walls.
• Please send up to 3 of your favourite images with your full name and Instagram handle, that you think would look great to [email protected] in JPG format, no bigger than 5mb. As submissions are narrowed down, we will reach out to get full TIFF files to check if they are suitable for printing. if your files are too big to send, please use we transfer or dropbox.
• Submissions are open until the 17th of September 2021 at 5:00 pm.
• If your image is not chosen for the wall, please don’t feel disappointed, we curate in themes and colours, so we also aim to choose images that work together in a series as well as individually. We also want to share your images (with full credit) on our social channels too to show off your talent. We will ask your permission individually before doing this.
• We respect your intellectual property and files. Other than for printing and displaying on the wall if chosen, or to share on our social channels once permission is sought, your files will not be used for anything else ever and deleted once the submission process has been completed.
• Please note that we cannot ship the prints to you once taken down as the size, weight and fragility of them will require them to be collected by you from the store, so if you are not based in Melbourne, keep this in mind.
• If you have any questions, please comment below or direct them to [email protected]. We are onsite Mon-Fri from 9am to 5:00pm. We will endeavour to get back to you ASAP, we may not reply in a timely manner if you DM us on social channels, so email is preferred!
