Today’s jam packed joint B.I.G. Delegates meeting resolved to draw a LINE IN THE SAND.

Enough of the attacks on the CFMEU, Enough of the attacks on construction workers, and Enough of the hypocrisy of one law for the corporate world and a different set of laws for blue collared unions.

Since the forced administration of the CFMEU only a month ago, the industry standards for construction workers have directly come under attack - with groups of employers seeking legal advice on; how they can get out of there obligations under their current agreements, how they avoid paying a decent wages to their workers and how they can get rid of RDOs while at the same time refusing to recognise workers representatives. These are just some of the agendas being played out following the forced administration.

Today we collectively say ENOUGH!! IT’S TIME TO FIGHT BACK!!!

Launching the “Line in the sand” campaign, together with the Target 1000 EBA campaign we commence the fight back starting with a mass rally next Wednesday 11 am Trades Hall.

It’s time to defend the industry standards. It’s time to defend the industry EBAs and it’s time we all support the CFMEU and all construction workers.

We've had Royal commissions into the severe misconduct of the banking and finance sector, the Robodebt scandal, and the aged care sector. Each of these Royal commissions had DAMMING FINDINGS, yet NOT ONE person lost their job, NOT ONE company was put into administration, and NOBODY went to JAIL!

The CFMEU on the other hand - one of Australia's strongest unions, is now FORCED straight into administration on the back of a handful of rumours and allegations.

The HYPOCRISY is staggering!!

We call on all jobs to stop at 10am this Tuesday to support the CFMEU and attend a Rally at the State Library 11am sharp!
