Starting his career over 20 years ago, Daniel Wells has shown unwavering loyalty and dedication to Capital S.M.A.R.T.

His journey to Repair Centre Manager is paved with hard work and perseverance and his commitment to excellence has been a cornerstone of his success.

Congratulations to Daniel Hollinshead, AMA Group's National Apprentice of the Year 2023.

Daniel (pictured left) is described as “a great team member always willing to help and do anything asked of him. Just into his third year and is working as a tradesperson would, exceling at everything he is given. It is refreshing to have a young man with such a great work ethic.”

We're excited to share some moments from our Frontline Leaders program.

For a year now, this program has been bringing together managers from across our group, fostering a sense of community and shared learning.

It’s more than just a program; it's a platform for our leaders to share ideas, gain insights, and envision our future together.

Just last week, we hosted a group of managers, including many from interstate, for a tour of our ACM - Somerton facilities. The excitement about the size and modern technology of our facilities was visible.

We are thrilled by the continuous growth and development of our team. Here's to many more gatherings!

Congratulations to Paul Thomson, State Operations Lead for Capital S.M.A.R.T, who won AMA Group Ltd's 2023 Leader of the Year Award.

Paul is described as "an inspiring leader who proactively seeks to create a positive workplace environment and has developed strong relationships across sites within his portfolio and across the Group."

He is a staunch advocate for ensuring we deliver quality outcomes at every stage of the repair process and has taken this approach to the entire business.

Every year we have the opportunity to nominate various people for the AMA Group Awards - this year we nominated our very own Jason Bates for Leader of the Year in the NSW/ACT category.

With absolutely no surprise of our own, Jason took out this award!

Congratulation to Capital S.M.A.R.T Osborne Park!

RCM Lucas Hoet and the team at Osborne Park delivered outstanding results to take out the Capital S.M.A.R.T site of the year and AMA Group Site of the Year.

AMA Group Limited today announced the appointment of Mathew Cooper as Group Chief Executive Officer of AMA Group, effective immediately (1 December 2023).

Mat said, “It is a great responsibility, honour, and privilege to be appointed as the next CEO for AMA Group. We have an incredible team of over 3,300 people across Australia and New Zealand. They have done a huge amount of heavy lifting across all areas of the business, and we are well positioned for the future."

Congratulations to the team at Wales in South Australia on their official opening!

Thank you Cowboys Community Foundation and NRL Cowboys House for everything you do. Congrats Martin Dickinson for leading our FNQ team in support of such a wonderful organisation.

OUR HEROES – we welcomed our dedicated 50-50 Charity Raffle volunteers to NRL Cowboys House to show how their fundraising is contributing to the lives of our young boarding students.

The special evening dedicated to individual and corporate volunteers included student-led House tours, refreshments from Cowboys Leagues Club and a review of our 2023 results - $210K in tickets sold!

On Friday 17 November, a delegation of AMA Group team members attended the Paint & Panel Bodyshop Awards.

The Awards were attended by 350 representatives from the industry and celebrated exceptional teams and individuals across several categories.

On the night, Michale Walden from Gemini Townsville took home the Young Achiever Award, and Gemini Pinkenba was recognised as the Best Corporate Shop. AMA Group congratulates Michale, the team at Gemini Pinkenba, and all nominees, finalists, and winners from AMA Group and across the industry.

AMA Group Ltd was proud to take out the Motor Trades Association of Queensland - MTAQ Large Business Award for Excellence earlier in November!

Congratulations Dannielle - 2023 Shelley Holst Award winner!

Dannielle is highly motivated and positively engaged, serving as a true inspiration. As the Customer Engagement Lead, she supports the Capital S.M.A.R.T Operations team in successfully deescalating complaints raised by customers and can adapt and adjust quickly without derailing. She consistently initiates process improvements to ensure efficiency and profitability. She successfully builds and maintains solid working relationships with colleagues and direct reports through her availability, trustworthiness, supportiveness and most importantly her honesty.

An all-rounder and an asset to our team and business in driving success with every opportunity that arises. Dannielle fosters a spirit of collaboration and inclusivity within her team. Her positive attitude is contagious, and even in high-pressure situations, Dannielle remains calm, optimistic, and motivating. Dannielle’s dedication to our company’s core values and spirit is truly exceptional. She embodies what it means to be a Capital S.M.A.R.T Repairs team member in every sense.

Congratulations to Scott Donnelly for winning the One AMA award in the AMA Group Awards 2023.

Scott joined AMA Group in 2014, when he sold Shipstone Accident Repair Specialists into the Group. Today Scott is the AMA Group National Technical Training, Prestige and OEM Manager. He has a long-standing commitment to the importance of certification and the use of OEM repair methods to safely deliver a quality result for the car owner. Scott is passionate about training and supports centre managers and technicians to continue their training and development. To this end, Scott has been the key driver of the roll out of the I-CAR course throughout AMA Group, with a total of 12 sites achieving Gold Class certification over the last year or so, up from only one before that.

Immensely well-regarded in the industry, Scott was recognised by his peers earlier in 2023, winning The National Collision Repairer Lifetime Achievement Award. In addition to his passion for the industry, Scott is an avid fitness enthusiast, and stepped out of his comfort zone to conquer the Kokoda Track in August 2023.

Congratulations Taleena Fitz – AMA Group Hall of Fame Inductee 2023!

Taleena has been an integral part of the business since the site was acquired by the Group and became Gemini Townsville in 2011. She originally started at the site in 1990, 33 years ago and has been there since.

Taleena is an outstanding CSO, always going above and beyond to deliver a great experience for our customers. Taleena is always there to support other areas when needed with no complaints and she is a highly regarded team player.

She has been through it all and seen everything at the site and has experienced some very challenging times. Where for many it would become too hard, she has always stayed loyal and always looks forward. Taleena has a very diverse skill set and is always open to change and continues to look for improvement on how we deliver for our customers.

Congratulations to Gemini Ballarat, Diplock's Collision Repair Centre, Alexander Body Works and Bellarine Smash Repairs, who have all achieved I-CAR Gold Class status over recent months!

AMA Group is pleased to announce the launch of the Group’s state-of-the-art flagship site on the Gold Coast, bringing together three repair centres under the new AMA Collision brand. This new facility, spanning 5,000m2, is set to redefine the customer experience, with a new approach that places the customer at the heart of every repair - "Repairs Driven by You."

This milestone marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for AMA Collision as the Group continues to elevate the standards of repair and service offered by the industry, and create a unique, customer-centric vehicle repair experience.

The team officially opened the site on Thursday 5 October, welcoming insurer customers, suppliers, and media to the site.

Congratulations Andrew Griffin – AMA Group Hall of Fame Inductee 2023!

Andy started his Capital S.M.A.R.T Repairs journey as a car painter at the site which is now Capital S.M.A.R.T Hornby 28 years ago.

Operations Manager, James Cotterill says, “His passion for the industry and his skills are some of the finest I’ve seen in the trade. Having worked with Andy for the last six years at S.M.A.R.T, he’s not a bad fella for a Painter! He’s got a great sense of humour!”

Andy spends his weekends building some amazing classic cars and many have made the NZ V8 magazines.
Andy is recognised for his hard work, contribution, and commitment.

Congratulations to Ali Rezaie for winning the bronze medal in Autobody Repair at the WorldSkills Australia National Champions!

Ali is a second-year apprentice from Capital S.M.A.R.T Rowville in Victoria who spent many months and countless hours in the lead-up to the Nationals, practising under the guidance of his Capital S.M.A.R.T Repairs workplace mentors and Kangan Institute teachers to be tested and judged while showcasing his Autobody Repair skills and abilities in a public arena.

Over three days, he completed tasks in a high-pressure environment against fourth-year apprentices from across Australia, vying for the WorldSkills Australia National Champion title in Autobody Repair – you have done incredibly well, we couldn’t be prouder!

AMA Group thanks the Capital S.M.A.R.T Rowville team and Kangan Institute for supporting Ali.

Congratulations to the Team at BMB Prestige Collision Repairs on being awarded the prestigious I-CAR Australia Gold Class Collision status.

“With the amount of OEM training delivered by I-CAR, it was fairly simple for us to gain the status. Training becomes second nature for our technicians as with the changing technology, everyone must keep on top of it. The I-CAR Gold Class program really embedded that.” stated Ian McInnes, Centre Manager of BMB Prestige Collision Repairs.
“If facilities are not keeping up with technology training they will be left behind. AMA Group and I-CAR work closely to schedule courses to fit into the needs of the business and maximise the ability of our team to complete their training. AMA Group has a clear goal to work toward I-CAR Gold Class status in all its facilities”. Explained Scott Donnelly, Technical Training, Prestige & OEM Manager at AMA Group. “This training is not just a nice to have but a must have,” added Ian McInnes.
