Back2Bikes will be holding their monthly pop-up at the Market on Saturday 25 May between 10am โ 1pm.
Back2Bikes is Port Phillipโs not-for-profit organisation that provides affordable and sustainable transport to people in need. Thanks to the generosity of the City Of Port Phillip Council, Back2Bikes has been running its essential not-for-profit service since 2017.
Last year, they donated over 200+ like-new bikes to people in need. They are extremely proud of the quality of bikes that they donate; every single bike that leaves the St Kilda workshop is high-quality thanks to their dedicated mechanics.
As the most affordable and sustainable form of transport, a bike changes a personโs day-to-day life, empowering adults and children every day as well as being a positive catalyst for mental health.
All of this is made possible through their community services:
๐ฒRefurbished Bike Sales: quality refurbished bikes are for sale to the community.
๐ฐDonations: A donation of a bike, parts, time or cash helps others in need of a bike.
๐งBike Servicing: volunteer mechanics provide low-cost, high quality bike servicing to the community.
๐ฉโ๐Courses & Training: They offer bike mechanical training to the community and volunteers.
Back2Bikes community services, volunteers and council donated premises are what make it possible for them to donate to over 200 people in need every year. Environmentally, their services divert over 600 bikes yearly from landfill!
Head down to Cecil Street on your trusty steed for a free 10-minute tune-up, Saturday 25 May between 10am โ 1pm.
