The Opals squad dropped today, with Basketball Australia announcing a 20-strong squad ahead of the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

The squad is headlined by Nunawading Basketball superstars Bec Allen & Alanna Smith, Spectres NBL1 South All Star Alice Kunek and former Spectres SEABL representative Marianna Tolo.

Congratulations to our 6x Nunawading Spectres teams that have qualified straight into VC pre-xmas, and a handful more still in contention come Phase 2.

It's been a HUGE start to the VJBL calendar, with all Spectres teams putting in some strong performances ahead of the break.

Southern Cross Challenge update - Lachie Kennedy has been added to Basketball Victoria's squad list for the upcoming Southern Cross Challenge.

Congratulations to our 5x Nunawading Spectres teams that have qualified straight into Vic Championship on the back of VJBL Grading Phase 1.

We have 7x Spectres teams facing crossover games to qualify for VC this Friday night, with 34x Spectres teams in action across all pools / divisions.

Congratulations also to our 14.2 Boys, 14.2 Girls and 16.3 Boys who have all progressed into higher pools next year.

Nunawading Basketball and its wider community is deeply saddened by the passing of Garry Christie.

Garry, affectionately known around the courts as 'Grandpa Gaz' was a long serving coach within the Nunawading Spectres representative program and played an integral role in talent identification & development.

A passionate and caring man that gave selflessly to so many aspiring young athletes and their families.

Our thoughts extend to Garry's family and friends in this difficult time.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday 5th December 2023 at St. John's Church, Coral Street Frankston East.

Nunawading Basketball has recently secured the basketball facilities at Eva Burrows College to assist in the delivery of our domestic competitions. As with many of our external sites, we share these facilities with a number of user groups and it is important that we respect college grounds and surrounding areas to ensure a long standing, positive relationship.

At Eva Burrows College, please –

Park in the car park provided and NOT ON MAIDSTONE STREET.
Use the paths provided. Do not walk through gardens within the carpark.
