Due to an overwhelming response to our first audition day, we will be holding a second audition day on Saturday October 26 🎵

The time is now to book an audition to join one of Australia’s finest treble choirs in 2025. Share the news far and wide!
In addition to providing a supportive and welcoming environment for boys to further their love for singing and music, the National Boys Choir of Australia offers unique performance opportunities via its own concerts and tours, along with regular performances with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and also on television and radio. An annual highlight is Carols by Candlelight by Vision Australia at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl.

What does being a part of the National Boys Choir of Australia involved, you might be asking?
Boys commence with the Choir at about seven or eight years of age. The Elementary Choir is the first year training group and boys generally spend 12 months being introduced to basic elements of singing technique, music notation and rhythm. Other important elements such as stage discipline and performance practice are also introduced, with rehearsals occurring once per week.

As members of the National Boys Choir of Australia, boys are supported in our friendly, professional atmosphere with our highly qualified and experienced staff working with each individual to become a valued member of the whole choir and community.

Meet Andrew, our Artistic Director and Administration Director 👋 ⠀

Andrew began his musical training as a boy chorister at St Paul's Cathedral Melbourne at the early age of seven. Growing into a passionate musician, Andrew went on to study piano, organ, composition and voice at The University of Melbourne while working as a freelance soloist, teacher and keyboard player for several years, including three years as principal guest organist with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.⠀

Andrew has held numerous positions within some of the country's leading performing arts organisations including the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and Australian Rosny Children’s Choir. Most recently Andrew was Musical Director of the Tasmanian Youth Choirs, and founding Musical Director of Tasmania’s leading chamber choir, Allegri Ensemble from 2013, before moving home to Melbourne to join the National Boys Choir of Australia.
Andrew and the entire NBCA team work tirelessly to provide a supportive and welcoming environment for boys to further their love for singing and music. What a memorable second term we had, topped-off by our performance with Ragazzi Boys Chorus 🎵
The Ragazzi Boys Chorus were on tour from Silicon Valley in California and we were delighted to combine with them to perform in Melbourne's St Patrick's Cathedral. It was wonderful!

The National Boys Choir of Australia provides countless unique performance opportunities to our members, such as this recent performance with Orchestra under the direction of renowned conductor, Graham Abbott 🌟
Sydney-born Graham Abbott is a Music Education graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium and in a career spanning nearly forty years, has been a guest conductor with all the state symphony orchestras, most of the major Australian opera companies, and most of the country’s major choirs.
