Introducing Meg

Meg started dancing from a young age competing in both Troupe and Solo competitions. During her secondary school years she became heavily involved in Performing Arts and the school productions with lead roles in both Mamma Mia and Strictly Ballroom.

Currently In her 1st year training at Patrick School of the Arts, Meg is excited to join the Steppes teaching team.

Introducing Miss Mia

Mia began dancing in 2002 at Utassy Ballet School specialising in RAD ballet, contemporary and character. Participating in original performances under the guidance of Sue & Kevin Hayes, highlights include performing at the Arts Centre Melbourne Playhouse for the 50th Anniversary, lead roles in the annual production of "Peter & the Wolf" and ongoing performances of the traditional Ukranian Hopak. Mia later joined YDC for their production of "The Tales of Beatrix Potter" and was the youngest member of youth contemporary company, Yellow Wheel, in their first year. Mia extended her dance reportoire with hip hop, musical theatre and jazz styles at Haileybury College and completed tertiary studies at The Space Dance & Arts Centre under Adam Wheeler and Spectrum Dance where she obtained her Certificate III & IV in Dance. Mia is a senior dance coach at Haileybury College is now studying Bachelor of Arts & Master of Teaching at Deakin University.

A big congratulations to this gorgeous girl, Georgie Lopes who has been offered a position at Patrick’s School of the Arts for 2025.

Georgie started dancing at Steppes at the age of 3, this year will be her 15th concert.

We have loved watching Georgie grow intro the beautiful dancer she is today and look forward to seeing her dance full time.

Welcoming Ella Mc Nair to the Steppes team.

With 18 years of classical RAD ballet training, reaching Advance 2, Ella has trained as a student at The National Ballet School under the tutelage of Beverly Jane Fry, Damian Smith, and Jane Keen since the age of three. As a former scholarship student of Mentone Grammar, Ella has had the honour of performing multiple leading roles, including her favourite as Velma in ‘Chicago’ (2021), and following her completion of Year 12, was invited to audition for Top Class in both VCE Drama and Dance as part of the VCE Season of Excellence.

Ella has continued her passion for performing and creating as a resident choreographer and dance program facilitator at the school, and is responsible for choreographing the Senior Musical, Junior Musical, and the Dance Production annually. She has also had the honour of back up dancing for artists such as Joel Corey, Havana Brown, DJ Tigerlily, and Steve Aoki at major festival events, performing to large crowds around the country. Ella is currently pursuing a Masters of Teaching and Bachelor of Performing Arts at Deakin University, where she immerses herself in the study of contemporary movement and choreography under the guidance of Luigi Vescio. Ella is delighted to be teaching at Steppes, and is excited to see what the future holds for her students!
