Beth is a passionate Pilates instructor, sharing an infectious love for this practice through a curated blend of contemporary and classic style mat classes. She encourages her students to add a level of intention to every move, shifting energy through the challenge and ritual of strengthening, while working with the breath to nourish the body, and moving to the beat of mood boosting tunes to help you achieve your goals. Beth offers holistic and inclusive classes that will leave you feeling stronger and more empowered in your body, for all levels.

We often get phone calls from women who are expecting, asking if our classes are safe to do in pregnancy and...... GOOD NEWS THEY ARE!
The majority of our Barre workout is standing you can do most of the exercises making little or no changes. Our expert trainer will give individual exercises when we get to the core section to balance and stabilise rather than fatigue and exert the abdominals. Of course you must be in good health and have clearance from your doctor to exercise. You must also listen to your body and take necessary modifications during class.

Big News... For the past 9 years and 10 months XTEND Hawthorn has operated as a franchisee under the XTEND Barre franchise. From December 1st the brand has decided to move in a different direction and longer operate as a franchise but rather as a licensed workout.
I am so excited to announce that XTEND Hawthorn will be standing on its own as a small business that continues to offer you the same incredible workouts, taught by the same incredible team.
Whilst there will be changes coming, I have done my very best to try and make these feel as minimal as possible to our members.

How to book classes...
From December 1st the XTEND App will no longer work. Please download the MINDBODY app and start using this app to book your classes. For those who have never used the MINDBODY app, we will share a how to video on our page soon 😉

This Pilates-based class will take your workout to the next level by adding the intensity of the Pilates Stick & Straps. Using resistance to deepen your muscles’ engagement and challenge your stabilisers, this is a low-impact class that really delivers. The elastic resistance means you can expect to strengthen and mobilise to your limits, and you control how much you need. And your core? It will be engaged the entire time thanks to the resistance.

A morning filled with wonderful women dressed in Pink, working hard and having fun in Fit Ball, Pilates & Barre.
Thank you to everyone involved, from the bakers to the participants, to those who bought some pink socks or dropped some coins into our jar. Thank you to our beautiful instructors .xtendbarre and receptionist who donated their time.

“Just like so many women, breast cancer has had its effect upon my life and my family’s. Whilst I do have my own experiences that have inspired me to really engage with breast cancer awareness, my participation in Plié for Pink is so much more than just personal stories. I do it for the women who have been impacted by breast cancer and left with too many stories to tell, or for the women who will never get the opportunity to. I do it for my mother and my daughter who will have to go through life constantly checking their own body to ensure their health. I do it for those who have lost someone they loved and for those who struggling now.”

FLEXIBILITY - Why are some people more flexible than others? There are quite a few factors involved, including; genetics, activity level, bone structure, age & gender. But the good news is, you can increase your flexibility regardless of your physical makeup. Did you know that flexibility is also specific to a particular joint or part of the body? I know my hamstrings are very flexible (can touch my toes easily), but my glutes & quads are sooooooo tight!
Here is a sneak peak into BARRE & STRETCH! So many clients say they leave feeling lighter, relaxed & stretched out! Class is every Thursday night 6pm so book in and join us!
Starting the day on Relevè -
At Xtend, Relevè is the action of rising up onto demi-pointe. Where your heel is lifted as high as possible and the ball of the foot and toes remain flat and relaxed on the floor.
Practicing series of relevés at a barre is a great way to gain strength in your feet l, ankles and entire legs, including the calves and thighs. Engaging the thigh muscles and “lifting” the knee cap in order to maintain straight legs, a relevé exercise ends up conditioning and working the thigh muscles. The calves also get worked because they are engaged to help maintain the foot’s arched position over the toes.
