NAIDOC Week: 7-14 July 2024
NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all of us to celebrate and recognise the proud history, culture and achievements of our First Nations people who represent the oldest continuous cultures on earth.
This year's theme celebrates the unyielding spirit of our communities and invites all to stand in solidarity, amplifying the voices that have long been silenced.
At NRCH we are privileged to be part of these celebrations. For more information about NAIDOC Week visit https://www.naidoc.org.au/
For 50 years NRCH has been an integral part of the Richmond community, providing inclusive, affordable and innovative healthcare services to all who need us.
For the past six of those 50 years, we've been safely and successfully operating Victoria’s first and only supervised injecting service. Celebrations were marked with a special community event hosted by our amazing team.
"Last Thursday was a special day as clients and staff came together to reflect on six years of the Medically Supervised Injecting Room (MSIR). Hearing everyone share their stories and memories was a powerful reminder to us all of the reason why our community uses, works in, or supports the MSIR: to reduce the harm and stigma associated with drug dependence," says Sarah Hiley, Head of Alcohol and Other Drugs.
Here at NRCH, we are committed to providing healthcare services centered around connectedness, openness, and respect which are part of our organisational values.
It is lovely to start the week with positive feedback from our dental client!
Sunday June 16 - Saturday June 22 marks .

We constantly strive to remove barriers to ensure equitable access to quality health and support services. Our Story
North Richmond Community Health is proud to provide award winning health services to the community.
North Richmond Community Health began supporting the Richmond community on Wurundjeri land in 1974. Then called the North Richmond Family Care Centre, it was an organisation built to support the diverse needs of the 4,000 strong community members of the Langdon Park Ministry of Housing estate.
A group of progressive doctors approached the estate’s community-led Tenants Union in the early 1970s, and together they came up with the idea of a health centre that didn’t just provide vital medical services, but also fostered and supported the community.
We work with everybody in this community and try to deliver services that work for all people regardless of their background.
