Apparently I dressed appropriately for the AURORA AUSTRALIS tonight ! I thought I would never see one in my lifetime

😦 😜 so glad I trusted my gut and drove down to Brighton Beach after dinner at a friends tonight for this experience , I’m officially an Aurora chaser , I was in the car down at the beach last night alone , and then again tonight , I’m on the Aurora alerts apps , Facebook groups etc and was gutted to miss out in May when it happened . Super surprised that we could see so much being so close to the city with the light pollution ! Big thanks to my new friend Erin that I met down the beach that took these pics and was equally as excited about this experience , and equally invested in being an Aurora Hunter tonight hahaha, an experience I’ll never forget

Every so often I take some time off for myself
( it’s all about life balance ) this time I went up to Noosa , Queensland where I grew up and spent some time with life long besties , made my way through Brisbane and Byron to hangout with more besties , and let me tell you , I highly recommend a winter warm getaway somewhere away from Victoria !! My cup is full after rejuvenating with quality time with friends and I’m back in salon , have a few spots left in August and September’s nearly full and October is full - so be sure to secure your spots soon if you’re planning on some 2nd half of the year hair ! Are you a rainbow kinda gal, or galaxy 🌈😘 using Manic Panic , both foiled , and not scalp bleached ( which means no contact of bleach went on the scalp ) both 6 hour long processes. I had so much fun doing these two , and how fun is a rainbow backdrop 😮 heheh 🤭

If you live in Phillip Island, you know about the Rainbow House. Painted in 2021 after Mykey O’Halloran experienced a homophobic assaulted by his neighbours in his backyard.
“There’s a lot of history with the house and my neighbours.”
Mykey told us. “But when I towed a ten-foot disco ball bus into the backyard, it rustled a few feathers.”
Formally known as Beverly Bedford, this 1977 school bus has gone from being a home for hippies, an indigenous school bus and more, spreading love to those who own it.
“The only person I could think of to be a custodian of Beverly was Mykey.” Former owner Cocoa told us. “I think it’s given him an avenue to direct his hurt and frustration towards his neighbours treatment. He has such a big, beautiful presence in the world, and now has another symbol of triumph for the community.”
Covered in mirror squares like a giant disco ball, Mykey knew something was up when he heard his neighbours talking about it. He soon got a call from the Council.
“I explained that it was a sculpture because it doesn’t drive.
But they told me I needed a permit because of neighbour complaints.”
The condition of the permit was that it mustn’t have any reflective surfaces. So he decided if it couldn’t be mirrored, it was going to be rainbow.
Getting coloured car vinyl wrap cut to the sizes of the mirrors, he transformed its look over three months while working full time. 92 hours of labour later, it was finally covered - but why change Beverly’s name? *more article shared in comments *

Reminiscing that time the Marge Simpson hairstyle I did was spotted on the New York Subway train back in 2017 🚇 - just hours after she left the salon in Times Square 🤣 I mean, Marge needs to get around in NY too! loved finding this on hahah we did this hairstyle to help grant wishes to children that were really sick and I used Rockabilly Blue 💙.

Who was I !? Then V/S Now’s - Some of these pics are 20 years in between from early high school ( the 2nd pic) and some are 10-16 years in between shots. You can see my emo / scene MySpace phase in high school , princess phase, schoolies phase , spray tanned and lash phase with no tattoos - and now I’m my true rainbow colours 🌈🥰 so many years of friendships and seeing all these lovely friends it’s like nothing had changed , but so much had changed at the same time , doing so many different things in our lives these days . So good and wholesome to catch up with some Queensland and Byron Bay friends this birthday week ( it’s on Wednesday ) but a real treat to go back in time to Noosa where I’m from , Sunshine Coast where I’m from and Byron , and catch up with everyone, some friends I hadn’t seen for 7-10 years ! ❤️💓🦄🌈 love you all so much !!!

Last appointment v/s 4 months later ( she started using hot water a few weeks before the fade out to help get the colours out to go blonde again ) , we got her back to blonde by lightening the ends for 5 to 6 minutes after a root bleach , then applied a semi toner for 15 mins which helps to eliminate any remaining in the hair. I used 10.21 to revert back to blonde and she was happy for there to be an opal like sheen of color through there. I think the color looks stunning and I hope you like this guide to how color can change and come out on shorter hair when it comes to rainbow dye! 🌈

92 hours so far of covering each individual mirror square on my bus. The neighbours complained about it being silver and mirrored, they tried to throw me under the bus and the council got involved, but I am not mad about the new rainbow addition to my front yard as the solution to “cover the reflective material” as I was told to do by council 😆🌈✌️ thanks for giving me the push to add more colour to my house. I’ve still got one whole side to paint a mural on , and a front fence in front of the bus to paint in the progressive pride flag , but that will have to wait til some warmer weather 🥶 but I just couldn’t wait any longer to post an update of how the bus is looking . Addressing the elephant in the room , homophobia , Elmer the bus is in the perfect parking spot at my Phillip Island rainbow house front yard , and she will be turned into an art studio - CANT WAIT TO DECORATE the inside 🌈🌈🌈 that will be my next art project ( for the next two years ) 😂🤣👌🦄💕 thanks for the bus again my dear friend I love and she feels like she belongs where she is … all ready for her new chapter # # big thanks to Phillip Island for printing me the car vinyl wrap and laser cutting it in the squares I needed for the bus mirrors 🪩

The newest Daddy in Wangaratta popped in yesterday with this little Gayby !!! ( Baby Ernie-Bo ) welcome to the world , you chose the best parents possible and you’re gonna have a very good life under their wings! After the help of Scouts gay best friend, as he says “ a helping hand” - (pun intended) 😂 here is their son now just 4 weeks old.

I’m so so happy for Scout and Mimi and you bring me tears of joy , we will miss you dearly at the salon Melbourne Hair Daddy , but friends ARE forever and so happy for you and Mimi with this beautiful next chapter of life for you both of country living & parenting , being a DADDY 4 REAL💕 congrats and sending all of my love to the other side of Victoria , see you soon when you’re all settled in!!!
