Get in touch with Lisa Perks (Epiphany Vocal Studio)

https://melbourne-musicteachers.com/lisa-perks-sing-ease/

Bio
Epiphany Vocal Studio exists to help singers unleash their voice “shamelessly”

Lessons are available online and in person.

– 20 years teaching

– Speech Level Singing

– Somatic Voicework

– CoreSinging

– Performance Coaching

– Mindset Coach

I work with professional and emerging artists and believe that everyone has the right to sing.

Healthy vocal technique, healthy mindset = healthy singers.

Here are some of my “Real Epiphanies”

“I have to be honest; I’m not big on “formal voice training”, however, in the midst of a theatre production when I found myself struggling with an ongoing sore throat, someone suggested I might be able to pick up a few ‘technique’ tips from Lisa Perks. Three lessons later, I’d discovered a brand new octave and a new comfort with my high range that I didn’t even know existed. Not bad, huh!”

– Claire Bowditch

“Lisa is an incredible singing teacher! Her knowledge of the human voice, her caring and expertise helps you bring out your best. That’s why I have been learning from her for more than 10 years. We’ve made a lot of progress and that allows me to preserve my voice and sing easily.”

– Kane Alexander

“In only a few months I have a totally new relationship with my voice! I use to feel trapped by my vocal capabilities. Since working with Lisa every session brings a breakthrough moment, leaving me with practical tools to use and helpful mentalities to adopt to singing freely and from the heart!”

– Rahel Phillips

Teaching Info

Our first session allows me to assess the condition of your voice and how YOU are feeling about your voice. I am here to help you determine the best path for you. I will spend time listening and assessing.

Lessons are built around the requirements of the student. In 20 years of teaching I’ve worked with a diverse group of singers of all ages, backgrounds and needs.

Problems with range, pitch, breath, creative block, stamina, confidence, mindset are just a few of the issues I can help with.

Looking for Drum Lessons | Percussion Lessons, Artist development, Ensemble Coaching, Theory Lessons, Jazz Improvisation Lessons, VCE Music Exam Preparation, Online Lessons in Werribee?

Get in touch with Taylor Douglas

https://melbourne-musicteachers.com/taylor-douglas/

Bio
Taylor Douglas is a skilled musician, performer and educator and has spent most of his life devoted to the pursuit of musical excellence.

Hailing from Melbourne Australia, Taylor has flourished providing a solid backbone through drums and percussion to some of the thriving Melbourne music scenes best original and cover acts, including with (but by no means limited to): The Soulenikoes, Flynn Effect, Johnny Uppercut, Brooklyn’s Finest, House Too Crowded, Uptown Funk and Caution:Thieves. His adept composition and performance in these bands drew the attention of others, and he soon found himself clocking on as backline for renowned acts such as Emily Williams, Tash Anderson, Elle Skies, Catholic Guilt and the D2 Drumline, which saw him perform on a national televised stage at the Cricket World Cup at the MCG, and as part of the NRL Finals at AAMI Park.

Also an accomplished and accredited instructional teacher, Taylor has over 15 years teaching experience all across Melbourne and Geelong. Priding himself on building connections, patience and enthusiasm for his discipline, Taylor’s teaching efforts have been rewarded with great rapport with his past and present students, and has seen him coach some all the way to selection for Top Class for High Performance in VCE Music performance (solo) and VCE music performance (group). Taylor’s extensive credentials include a Bachelor of Music (Monash University) and a Graduate Diploma in Music Education from ACU. He has studied under several proficient teachers and drummers including Graham Morgan, Tony Floyd, Dave Beck, Danny Farrugia, Gerry Pantazis, Andy Gander & Gordon Rytmeister. In further pursuit of his passion, Taylor travelled to the USA & Cuba to study with America’s own titans of drumming, Dave Elitch (The Mars Volta), Daniel Glass (The Royal Crown Review), Steve Hass (Patti Austin), Tommy Igoe (Birdland Big Band), Stanton Moore (Galactic), Rodney Barreto (Chucho Valdez) and Ari Hoenig (Punk Bop; Ari Hoenig Trio).

Few players have the deft ability to take you through a dynamic journey through percussion alone, but Taylor is one such artist. From a laid back swing groove through to the chaotic yet rhythmic tumble of an erratic washing machine meeting a thunderstorm, he can run the gauntlet from quietly menacing through to an open assault – and all while looking like a kid on Christmas day opening the shiny new red bike. It is obvious to all who have seen him play that Taylor’s home is behind his kit. When not at his drum stool, Taylor can probably be found at the boxing, the Brazilian Jiu mats or sharing his home with his beautiful family; his lovely wife Lauren, party puppy Alle, and he is the proud father of 40 beautiful snare drums.

I am a trained tenor and can adjust the tone of my voice to suit the style of music. (Elvis to Anthony Warlow)

I have been teaching guitar for over 20 years. I am specialist in young beginners, teaching them to read music and not just the “Evil Tab!”(lol)

I have taught both classroom and instrumental music in schools as well as private lessons for many years.

I am mind numbingly patient with students, and I used to swear I’d never become a music teacher because all the music teachers I knew I thought had a hormonal in balance!

I teach the way I would have liked to be taught!

I make it fun, at times I have been known to clown around a bit to get students attention or to help them lighten up when getting frustrated at themselves.

Parents are welcome to come and sit in and observe and even get involved so the student can be supported in practice at home.

I have strategies to teach students with special needs developed over the years and have helped students on the autism spectrum develop finger strength and they respond to music like no other students.

We (my wife Donna and I) hold a concert each year for our students to share their music with family and friends.

Teaching Info
Students should come away from a lesson feeling supported and they have had fun and they can do it!

I spend half of my life taking the word “Can’t” out of peoples vocabulary.

I have taught people to sing in tune when they couldn’t pitch a note.

I have hundreds of students to read music confidently and to gain skills both guitar and singing.

Howdy!!

I’m a self taught muso with over 20 years of experience. You can check me out on YouTube.com/cammineo or Instagram.com/cammineo

Most people working with me gravitate towards becoming or expanding their skill as singer and songwriter, with an accompanying instrument of their choice, and potentially recording their songs in my studio.

When I’m training / guiding others, it’s not about being great or achieving the best quality, it’s about doing small steps, gaining traction, momentum and confidence, but more importantly, actually having a regular relationship with music.

I do 1 on 1 but I also run a songwriting group 4 times a year, for 5 people only which you can check out here: cammineo.com/SongGenie

Here’s a small bio with some of my stats:

Cam Mineo is a self taught multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter, vocal coach and facilitator of personal development trainings and music events.

With over 17 years as a solo performer and with original bands including:

Superjuice (songwriting / drums / vox)

Cam Mineo (songwriting / production / instrumentation / vox)

Mojo Bag (songwriting / drums / vox)

20+ years experience as a singer songwriter, 5 years as a dance and personal development class facilitator,

Cam has performed in bands along side artists including The Teskey Brothers and Psuedo Echo,

written over 200 songs, released over 30 songs online, performed to 1000s, coached over 100 clients in music and personal development,

recorded, arranged and produced songs for many upcoming local artists from Duffy Street Studios,

and has probably eaten over 5000 carrots in his life time. But there’s no way to prove that, so you better take his word for it.

Teaching Info
I work intuitively, so don’t expect your ordinary teacher. I might tell you to go for a run on the beach really fast whilst singing so you can get used to engaging your diaphragm.

I feel out and enquire about your goals and needs and cater the lessons towards that. 🙂

Teaching Info
Teaching style:

Specialist training: All teachers at THE HOUSE OF VOICE have graduated from prestigious music schools: VCA and Melbourne University. Also furthering post graduate studies in music and teaching, teachers have specialist skills and education.

Holistic: We custom design all lessons to the individual straying from a one size fits all approach. We have a holistic approach when it comes to training singers, songwriters and musicians, using mixed method approaches which aim to give students a balanced education in all areas

Scientific – All our vocal/instrumental training is based on scientific methods and holistic approaches made easy. We make sure singers get to know their instrument and are fully educated whilst having fun and remaining engaged.

Teachers all have specialist music training in their chosen instrument/service, with new approaches to Voice, Drums, Guitar, Piano, Violin, Viola and Songwriting.

Fun – Fun is a big priority for us when taking on students, and we pride ourselves in making music education fun, engaging, informative and easy to process.

Technique made accessible for all ages and levels – We never underestimate your ability to learn technique (at whatever level). It is our belief that even beginners should have specialist knowledge. So we won’t skip any steps, leave out any techniques which will disadvantage you down the track. Your education is our priority.

We will never teach you to sing genres in another genres technique: Due to our education and experience, we have skills in all genres specific techniques. There is no point teaching a pop singer to sing pop like a classical singer. Whilst there are many similarities between genres, there are also distinct differences. We honour this and teach you all the techniques behind each style, in which to do justice to not only the song but it’s genre.
