On this day 5 years ago, we opened the doors to Small Axe Kitchen for the very first time. Time sure has flown.
We are so proud of the extended family we have become, staff, customers, suppliers and friends. Our wonderful community continues to support us through the lockdowns, the reopens, the closes, the ups and the downs. Although we are extremely disappointed we are marking this occasion while we are closed, we are so grateful for every day of the last 1825 and we can't wait to reopen and see everyone's smiling eyes and faces back in the restaurant in the not too distant future.

Next month is Plastic Free July, and I’m putting my hand up to get back in the habit of taking a coffee mug or reusable cup with me every day.

Many of our traders along Sydney Road have become ‘BYO cup and container-friendly’ in an effort to help phase out single-use plastics.

Did you know you can't recycle single-use coffee cups or lids (in kerbside bins)? And they take 30 to 100 years to break down?

Join me in bringing your own cup to a cafe in Moreland and choose to refuse single-use plastics, where you can. Every little bit helps!

WE'RE BACK BABY!!
Open Thursday to Monday 8am - 3pm. The classics like the breakfast pasta are back as well as some new and delicious additions to the menu! Come in and see us, we've missed you!!

As you have probably heard, this beautiful city of ours is finally starting to come out of restrictions... woohoo!!
So that means we will be open for dine in at Small Axe Deli as of Wednesday 28th October! We cannot wait to see your smiling faces, no bookings necessary, just come on in... grab lunch, get dinner to take home and order a picnic box for the weekend!
We are still a few weeks away from reopening Small Axe Kitchen, check out previous post for more info.

After being closed for the best part of 7 months, we have been given the green light (again) to reopen Small Axe Kitchen and we are absolutely thrilled! As you can imagine, there is quite a bit to do after being closed for so long to get us ready to open the doors again. So the plan at this stage is to open on Thursday 19th November and trade 5 days a week (Thursday - Monday) from then. We will take bookings for groups of 6 or more, groups smaller than that a booking isn't needed. We will also be taking function bookings as we head towards to the festive season. Wow, can you believe this is actually happening!?
We cannot wait to feed everyone breakfast pasta in the sunshine, listening to good tunes doing what we do best!
