Recently I have encountered some people who are just plainly rude and self entitled.

I run a professional dog grooming service. With this said

Warning ⛔️
I will not tolerate rude, sarcastic, inappropriate or aggressive behaviour. If I am approached this way, you will not be using my services, simple.

A ) I will not put my clients at risk of injury, illness or disease. Therefore I require all of my clients to show proof of vaccination.
I do also require the owner to fill in my admission form with as much detail as possible for the benefit of the dog/s.
I take photos of all things I find during the grooming process. This could be infections, wounds, matting etc. The photos are for me to send / show you the owner and for my reference.

B ) I ask for the owners name simply so I know who I'm talking to & for my phone contacts.

C ) Your email is for the generated calendar event where I attach your email as an invite to produce reminders before the appointment.

D ) Current photo of the dog is so I have some idea of amount of time I will need to complete the groom. Sometimes people are reluctant to tell me straight that their dog needs a lot. And other times people are unaware of what their dog needs.
I’m trying to not make other clients after your appointment wait.

I have free appointment times between Monday 17/06/2024 & Friday 21/06/2024

Learning how to maintaining your pooches in between grooms or learning how to maintain your pooch because you’re finding it difficult to keep up with the costs. I’m always happy to share my skills with my clients, all you have to do is ask.

Sometimes it’s a hard decision to contact a dog groomer. Especially when you know it’s going to mean a complete shave down in the winter months.
As I was trying to comfort the owner of this funny quirky pawsome little fellow, she reminded me that she can put a coat on him and it’s only a couple of weeks between a short coat and a longer coat.
I loved her positive attitude ❤️🐾

I had the company of this gorgeous little girl this morning. While I’m papering her I’m thinking, I know it’s cold weather however fur still grows, matting still happens, deshedding is still required.
We as dog groomers cater for the cooler temperatures. We have heated water, our blowers and dryers are also heated. Our facilities are also in a temperature controlled environment.

There’s something that is annoying me!!
And it’s not harnesses for a change (well they still annoy me but something else is now too!)
and I don’t know the proper name for it so I’ve given it my own special word!

Undogging 😆

Let’s stop undogging our dogs!!
It’s become more apparent in the last few years that owners just don’t like a lot of the things that dogs do!!
Hu***ng
Digging
Growling
Playing rough
Sniffing
Licking
Running around
Chewing
I mean these are all very basic natural instincts for dogs!! But we don’t like it!
More and more I’m being asked to help stop dogs behaviour that owners are uncomfy with…but actually I’m sticking up for the dog by saying “yeah well he will do that because he’s a dog!”

Dogs do animal things because they’re animals but we are becoming less tolerant!! We are the issue!!
It doesn’t suit our very clean instagrammable lifestyle!
But that’s not your dog’s fault-they didn’t get the memo to behave impeccably for you!!

I would love a parrot!!!!
But they squawk really loud and that would annoy me so instead of getting a parrot and trying to stop it being noisy I just won’t get one 😆😆

I would love a horse - but they need loads of time and run around a lot and I can’t be arsed to get up earlier than I already do so instead of getting a horse and moaning that it runs around a lot and takes up loads of time I just won’t get one (I have very limited horse knowledge can you tell)

I would like a cat but they miaow a lot and knock glasses of wine off the side of cupboards and I like wine so instead of moaning about my cat spilling wine I will stick to drinking wine with my dogs instead!
You get my point 😆

So if you don’t like socially awkward or slightly annoying things that dogs do maybe don’t get one 🤷‍♀️

And don’t apologise to other humans for dog things that dogs do! Let’s love them for being dogs!! Hu***ng your neighbours dog and weeing on your mother in laws rose bushes it’s all to be expected!!

Yes - I can change behaviour - yes I can make them safe and fun and trained - Yes - I can stop unwanted dangerous behaviour! But no I can’t make them not be dogs - because I don’t want to!! I want you to have an incredible once in a lifetime relationship with a member of a totally different species and both of you appreciate each other for what you are!! I mean they’re probably pretty embarrassed by your weird behaviour too 😉”
