Plants Abloom
Welcome to our planting journey π±
Join us while we trail through the seasons in the patch
Ever walk into a room and think, these are my people π± πͺ΄
I am absolutely over the moon that my passion and goal for this little business of Plants Abloom is coming to fruition! So wholesome & canβt wait to keep adding to the patch there at Renataβs Family Day Care π±π©π»βπΎπ
An abundance of green goodness picked fresh from the garden. Lots of discussions took place as we sat around our basket of goodness. We talked about healthy choices for our growing bodies, and how easily they can be grown in the garden.
It was now time to have the children decide what other good foods they'd like to try grow in our garden next. Johnny's input being "tomatoes" which both Hudson and Mia agreed with. Renata thinks Strawberries might be a good idea. Mariyah suggested Strawberries and lettuce, when Hudson bluts out "cheese!!"
"Do we grow cheese in the garden?" questions Renata. Cheese doesn't grow in the garden, it's made from milk which comes from the cows bo***es which is called an udder. The udder can store lots of milk and the teats need to be squeezed for the milk to come out.
Mariyah then suggests to grow a baby. Do babies grow in the garden Mariyah? Babies grow in mummies tummy says Hudson rather prompltly. He should know, he checks daily if Mummy Sally's baby is growing haha. This morning even giving Mummy Sally's baby bump a cuddle, whih is very sweet.
Mia didn't offer any new suggestions but said she wanted to grow strawberries. Somehow blueberries entered the conversation, we will need to do some research to find out when and how they grow. Johnny's keen on growing apples, which lead to a discussion on some fruits growing on trees and not in the ground or on little plants like ours.
I wonder if we could grow a miniature apple tree successfully in a pot? How cool would that be. Great brainstorming session you guys.

Hard to believe.

Newly planted salad as well as rocket, is starting to really thicken up. Should we dig them out in order to seperate them a little, and then replant allowing more room to grow? Plants Abloom this oneβs for you π

Happy International Carrot Day π₯ π
Did you know that carrots were originally purple, yellow and white. Orange was created by crossing these colours to create a sweeter orange variety.
Today is the day to celebrate this versatile vegetable.
Eat raw, cooked, pickled, in a cake, savoury as a side or fried in honey, this fundamental veggie is easy to prepare directly in the soil, keep up the water and it will reward you.
Now is the time, especially here on the East coast NSW, to sow seeds directly into fine soil in your veggies patch. Ensuring there are not too many large sods (large soil particles to aim on straight carrots.
Make sure to thin your seedlings out and leave the stronger to flourish
